“Lucca.” Ivan said his name and Lucca’s smile instantly disappeared, his hold loosened. Ivan’s eyes narrowed and Lucca removed his arm from around her waist and stepped back away from her. What was that all about? Who was this guy Ivan?

“Well, we should get back to the interview.” Griska spoke up, and stared at Ivan as if waiting for his approval.

Seriously? An odd sensation filled her gut. Griska looked nervous. Whoever Ivan was, he was important, maybe a boss or big shot. He definitely looked powerful, and damn those grey eyes were something else, never mind the size of him. He was built, but trim, with wide shoulders, a narrow waist, and looked incredible in the designer suit even though it was just black. They were all silent. Ivan was definitely an intimidating individual.

Ivan just stared at her as if he were memorizing her face. She couldn’t take it. It was too much. It did too much to her body. Her nipples harden, her core tighten. Jesus, the man was lethal and older. Oh boy, older and more experienced and definitely out of her league.

“Well, it was very nice meeting you all in such a crazy manner. I should get going. Enjoy the rest of your evening.” She said, interrupting the silence.

She felt like she shouldn’t have done that. Like maybe this guy was some superior being and everyone was to wait until he commanded, or barked just a few words. Her thoughts were going in circles, but her eyes went back to Ivan, even after Commerce winked at her. She turned around as Griska bid everyone good evening and then he walked her back through the bar area and to the elevator. When she looked over her shoulder unable to resist checking to see if the Russian was watching her, she caught his gaze and then she caught sight of the multiple men around him, including one whose jacket came open revealing a firearm. Her eyes widened and her heart began to race. Who the hell was that man, and what exactly were they into to need weapons on them? Not cops, or detectives.

“Are you sure that you’re okay?” Griska asked her. She drew her attention back to him and gave a soft smile.

“I’m perfectly fine.?

??

“Your reaction was impressive, and those moves. We normally don’t have any situations like that and when we do the bouncers head it off quickly. The separate security around certain individuals should have caught that before any of us had to step in.” Lucca added.

“Lucca.” Griska said his name and she had an odd feeling. Like maybe these were criminal businessmen or something. He said separate security. Were those men around Ivan his security? Did this place have other things happening here than just selling drinks?

“The bottom line is that Annabella is okay, and no one else got hurt.” He said. They were all silent and once again she spoke up.

“Well it is pretty crowded tonight. That seemed like a heated confrontation and something brewing between those two men for a while. Add in the alcohol and it happens. Perhaps monitoring the number of occupants could help, so no other similar situations occur, and maybe your bouncers need to be more assertive while on guard.”

“I can’t believe he pulled out a knife. You could have gotten stabbed.” Lucca said to her, his palm against her lower back as he guided her.

“Well no use in pondering over all the ‘could haves’. Cowboys and college students can get pretty damn rowdy when they’re liquored up. It worked out fine.” The doors to the elevator opened.

“Well, let’s talk salary and when you can work this upcoming week.” Griska said and she smiled.

“Great. Thank you for the opportunity.”

They gathered in the office and went over things. She had a bit of an uneasy feeling and couldn’t stop thinking about Ivan, Commerce and the other men wielding guns under their suit jackets. What the heck kind of place was this, and who were those men? Drug dealers, organized crime? In the back of her mind she thought about her family. How they had a coffee shop and gift store, only six blocks from here, and how one night when closing there was an explosion in the building next door, and her life changed forever. The investigation indicated it was arson, but no one was ever caught. No information was ever given to her or her aunt, and life had to go on. Surviving the fire was traumatic. Why was she thinking about that again right now? Just because all these men were Russian, and Russians owned the storefronts around her parent’s shop?

She shook the thoughts from her head and focused on this opportunity. She didn’t like that Ivan popped into her head, or the thought of ever seeing that man Ivan again. She would definitely need to be on guard working here. Something told her this was going to be one heck of an exciting job opportunity. The salary was impressive, and that alone would make her take risks. She could do her job, mind her business and stay clear of trouble. Even the good looking kind. Hopefully she didn’t screw this up or she would be working in the café at The Point, for life.

“I can’t decide if my favorite part of her were those stunning green eyes, or that sexy body.” Commerce whispered to Ivan who stared toward the elevator wondering if he would see Annabella again.

What a gorgeous name, and she seemed sweet, yet pretty damn tough. Why was he still thinking about her? Now Commerce found her attractive as well as Dante and the rest of the security team as they talked about her moves, her body and her large breasts.

“Fit for a king, and young too. Trainable maybe.” Dante said and the men chuckled.

“Sweet and young, what do you think, early twenties?” One of the guards asked, and they chuckled some more.

“I would love to teach her some things.” One of the others added.

“Cool it.” He ordered to all of them and they immediately stopped talking.

Commerce snickered low, glanced at Ivan who narrowed his eyes at him. “Holy shit. She caught your eye. Jesus, the one gorgeous, classy woman I see after months out in the field, and she gets my dick hard and you’re fucking interested? Fuck.” Commerce hissed, sounding annoyed, and then downed the rest of his vodka shaking his head. Ivan looked at him.

“I’m meeting with the Realtor tomorrow to finalize the purchase of a building for offices. Since you’ll be running the security firm would you want to come along and see it?”

Commerce gave Ivan a sideways look. “I didn’t say yes to anything and you gave no details on responsibilities, money, schedule, and whatever.”

“We’ll sign contracts tomorrow. Meet me at the house for dinner and to discuss it then. I’ll fill you in on the building, its private location and how quickly we’ll need to move along with renovations and set up.” He said, ending any further discussions about the sexy brunette with the green eyes.
