Lucca came out of the private room and he looked annoyed. She was caught off guard as a strong arm slid around her waist from behind and she tightened up but then sighed in relief.

“Why are you working? Shouldn’t you be resting?” Commerce asked her. She slowly turned in his arms but he didn’t release her. Instead he pulled her into his arms and hugged her to him. She locked gazes with Striker, his other good -looking soldier friend who gave her a wink. She squeezed Commerce back.

“I’m fine and needed to get things back to normal.”

He pulled back slightly, slid his hand to her cheek, tilting it up towards him. “You look tired.”

“Thanks for the compliment.” She said and eased from his embrace.

“She looks sexy and classy. Get a load of this dress.” Striker told her and hugged her next. She kept her arm around his

waist. “Let me buy you two a drink.”

“Only if you’ll join us.” Commerce said to her.

“Of course.” She said, feeling like she needed one.

Especially seeing how that woman touched Ivan, dismissed Annabella like she was only help and not of importance, and then found out the woman was Cassandra Holmes. A woman supposedly Ivan slept with. She was jealous, angry and could hit someone. It should have woken her out of her state seeing that woman touching him and Ivan doing nothing to stop her.

She snapped out of her daze and even ignored the way Ivan kissed the woman’s cheek goodbye later in the night and how his palm slid to nearly her ass and then up her back. From there on out she avoided the area he sat in with Commerce and them and then wound up by the bar until she desperately needed something for her headache.

She felt the hand on her hip and turned to see Dmitri there.

“You aren’t feeling well, are you?”

“I’m okay Dmitri. I just need some pain killers.”

“Then go get some. Rest for a little while, Lucca can handle things. It’s late.”

She nodded and held her finger to her temple. She spoke into her wrist, mic.

“Lucca, I’m going upstairs for a bit.”

“What’s wrong? Are you feeling sick? Dizzy?”

“I’m okay, just need something for my headache. I’ll be back in a little bit.”

“Take your time, we’ve got it covered.” He said to her and she headed toward the hallway and toward the elevator.

When she got upstairs Quarters narrowed his eyes at her. “What’s wrong?”

That was the first words the man had ever spoken to her and she was shocked but her head was really starting to get worse. “Headache. Getting something to help. I’ll be here for a little bit.”

He nodded.

She walked into the room and then toward the other small office. She reached for her bag and pulled out the pills. She took two ibuprofen with some water and then walked to the window. Looking out at the streets below she could see there wasn’t a line of people. It was late and in another two hours she would be heading home to bed.

“Are you okay?” She jerked the moment she heard the deep voice and then locked gazes with Ivan.

His hands were on his hips, the gun on his waist showing. She looked him over, the dark hair, the wide, muscular shoulders, that hard, dark expression. Her heart raced. She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled then turned towards the window again.

“I’m fine and just came up here to take something for the headache.” She nearly gasped the moment she felt his body close to hers, and felt his hand slide up under her hair and against the bump, gently.

“It’s getting smaller.” He whispered, his warm breath colliding against her neck.

“Hmm, a good thing.” She replied softly, but didn’t turn.
