I licked and nipped his neck and ear. “I’m sure we can arrange that.” I had been thinking along those same lines earlier in the day. One-on-one time with each one of them.

“Good,” he muttered, and my eyes widened in surprise as he impaled me once more. This time he took his time bringing me to completion. His movements were leisurely less hurried, but no less intense when we fell apart together. Our mouths meeting, trying to swallow each other’s sounds of pleasure.

Chapter 21

I knew it was going to be a loud boisterous night the moment the children got into the Land Rover. Nadia and Ella climbed into their booster seats in the rear of the vehicle. Patrick climbed in beside Micah. Only Micah had accompanied me to go get the rest of the children with Noah, while Chip and Alex were going to meet us at the store with Jemmy, Gavin, and Jaxson. Remy was heading to the new We 7 with Jace, Drake, and Troy. They were going to rearrange the restaurant to be more conducive to a party and meet with the kitchen and wait staff.

Remy was trying to keep this casual. It wasn’t going to be opened to the public, just family, friends, and employees and their families. Those who chose to work during it were going to be paid handsomely. He was going to set the food up buffet-style and only needed two servers to ensure the food stayed stocked.

I had received a lot of texts from Jemmy and Rachel today, so I had a feeling they were going over the top with their preparations. They had invited a lot of people from the high school and told them it was a $5 cover with a cash prize for best costume. I told her to clear it with Remy, but I doubt that she had. I had a feeling Remy was going to be regretting this come Sunday morning.

“I’m going to be a butterfly,” Nadia was saying with excitement as we pulled up in front of the Halloween store.

“I want to be a butterfly too,” Ella said fervently. She seemed like she was almost back to her old self.

“But we already got your costume, remember,” I gently reminded her.

“Oh yeah.” She frowned. “Can we take it back?”

“Sure can,” Noah said immediately. “You know, Ella, you helped a lot of woman today.”

Ella perked up. “Is that what I saw?” she asked. “I didn’t do anything really. Chip, Blake, and you did all the work,” she said confidently.

I hopped out of the truck and waited for them to unbuckle themselves. I took Ella and Nadia’s hand to walk them across the parking lot. “But we wouldn’t have known what to do, if it wasn’t for you,” I stated.

Ella gave me a smile full of pride.

When we entered the store, Jemmy and Rachel were already filling their carts with decorations. Gavin was patiently walking the boys through the aisle with boy costumes.

Chip seemed more animated and happy than I had ever seen him. I allowed the girls to walk ahead of me to find the butterfly costume for Ella.

“What are you going to be?” Noah asked as he grabbed my hand.

“I can’t tell you,” I smiled mysteriously. “I promised the girls. Our costumes are under wraps.” I added quickly.

“Can you give me an idea?” Noah prodded.

I shook my head. “Nope.” I smiled.

“Grrr,” he growled. “I’ll just go ask Gavin.”

“He doesn’t know,” I insisted with little conviction.

Noah raised an eyebrow. “We are talking about Jemmy.”

“Oh yeah,” I groaned. “But I’m still not telling you.” I added with a smile.

Noah slapped my butt and went to catch up with Gavin and the boys.

“But I’m purple, you can be pink.” Nadia stood with her hands on her hips in the middle of one of the aisles.

“You know I hate pink,” Ella scoffed. “Why can’t we both be purple?”

“You can be blue,” I quickly interjected. “It matches your eyes.”

Ella crossed her arms with a mutinous expression. “I want to be purple.”

“But the purple one doesn’t have ballet slippers in your size,” I tried to cajole her as I picked up a pair of slippers.
