Cal is a decent-looking guy, and seven years my junior. He’s closer to Lucy’s age than I am, and that has my stomach flipping over. What if he thinks he has a shot at her?

“It’s just us two tonight,” I say, my tone sharp.
Cal looks a little taken aback. I’m usually a pretty laid-back guy, but Lucy has changed that about me. As far as I’m concerned, she’s the only thing that matters in the world, and I’ll do anything to protect her, to keep her as my own. She looks a little shocked at my change in tone, but she doesn’t back away from me. I guess she doesn’t have a problem with this beastly side to me.
“You sure, man? You don’t want the company?” Cal asks, but he looks a little uncertain now. Who can blame him after the way I’ve spoken to him?
“It’s just us two,” I grit out. I’m not waiting any longer to get my shot with her. I’ve waited long enough already, and now, I’m too wound up to hold back. If I don’t get out of here soon, I’m going to blow up like a volcano. Fortunately, Cal takes a step back, looking a little confused, but not willing to push me any further.
“Alright, man. I guess I’ll see you around the office tomorrow…I hope you have a good time.”
As Cal walks off, I feel a little guilty, but this whole thing with Lucy has made me so irrational. I’m like a new man. I glance over at her and she smiles at me, looking a little nervous, but it feels like maybe that’s just because we’re going to be alone together.
I don’t think I’ve scared her off, at least.
“Sorry about that,” I say. “I didn’t want him around for this…I want to get to know you better. Alone.”
Her lips pull into a smile and I see the confident woman within her shine through. That smile of hers directed at me sends a shockwave through me, and causes a flutter in my chest like I’ve got butterflies in there.
“That’s alright. I’d prefer it this way anyway,” she says. I watch her eyes scan over my body once again. I know she’s got to be checking me out. She might be more subtle than I am, but I’m definitely getting the distinct feeling that she’s into me.
Why else would she be so keen to be alone with me?
I place a hand on the small of her back and lead her toward my car.
“Come on. I’m going to take you to one of the best places in town.”
She doesn’t flinch away from my touch or attempt to move away as we walk together.
I do my best to be a gentleman, opening the car door for her and helping her into her seat, but my thoughts are less than gentlemanly. I’ve got her beautiful curves on my mind and what I’d do if I was allowed to touch them. Even as I drive us to the restaurant, I think about her body, barely concentrating on the road ahead. I’m usually so focussed, so sure of myself, but since I met Lucy, all of that has gone out of the window. I try to make small talk with her, but I barely hear her speaking.
I’m picturing us in a few hours from now, naked in my bedroom, exploring one another’s bodies.
The thing is, I’ve never pictured anyone this way. I’ve never found a woman that I wanted to do those things with. I’ve held back on sex, knowing that it would only give me true release with the right woman.
