His fingertips slide idly through my hair.

“You’re so damn sexy,” he whispers. “And beautiful. And funny. And smart. And talented. And perfect. I wonder if…”

“We just got pregnant?” I whisper. “I was thinking the same thing.”

“You a mind reader now.” I can hear the smile in his voice. “Yes, that’s what I was going to say.”

“I hope so,” I reply. “But that means…”

I trail off, hardly able to think it, let alone say it,

But what other choice do we have now?

We broke our promise to wait. We couldn’t resist each other.

“Yeah,” Bryon says, with a heavy sigh. “We have to tell your dad.”

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

Aaron

“I feel like we’re staging an intervention,” Billie says, laughing humorlessly.

She looks at me and I offer her a smile, or what I hope is a smile. It’s difficult when I know that, any second now, when Andy comes walking through that door all hell could potentially break loose.

I sit in one of the armchairs, Janet and Billie on the couch.

I was wary about having Janet here at first, but Billie told me her mom supports our relationship, and I always got on well with Janet before the rift between me and Andy.

She looks over now, offering me a tight smile.

We’ve been here for almost an hour, and – after I swore I only want the best for Billie – Janet told me several times over that she stands behind our relationship.

“I’ve never seen Billie like this,” she said. “I’ve never seen her so passionate, excited, optimistic about the future. But if you ever hurt her…”

She looked at me seriously, and I nodded. “I understand. I swear, I will never hurt her. And I’ll never let anyone hurt her, either.”

Now, Billie smooths her hands up and down her legs, as though her anxiety is guiding her movements.

I have to focus on not devouring her thick luscious thighs with my gaze.

After what we did last night, she seems all the sexier to me, every subtle movement igniting another torrent of need.

She’s wearing a hoodie and jeans, nothing conventionally sexy, but I can’t stop myself from mentally stripping her naked. I remember the way her ass bounced against my abs, the gorgeous jiggling of her voluptuous cheeks, and then at the end…

Fuck.

When I moved her sideways so her legs were pressed together, her ass sticking out toward me, pommeling into her as her cream cascaded down my dick.

I clench my hands into fists, as though that will help me push away the thoughts, not that I’m sure I even want to push them away. My seed commands me to forget about this, to grab Billie and drag her back to my place, bend her over and—

The front door rattles.

I take a breath, forcing the fantasies as far from my mind as they can possibly get… which is never very far where my woman is concerned.

As the door opens, Billie lets out a shaky breath. Even Janet sighs heavily, as though she’s expecting this to go badly.

Andy pushes the door open and strides in, wearing his janitor’s uniform. Even if it’s an honest living, part of me is pained when I see him dressed like that.

It’s not that there’s anything wrong with being a janitor, but more that I know we could’ve been performing together for the last two decades.

But if that was the case, I would’ve watched Billie grow up, and I would’ve felt strange about being with her.

I can’t regret anything that led me to my woman, to the heat we shared last night.

“What is this?” Andy walks over to the edge of the living room. “Can somebody explain what the hell is going on here?”

“Andy, honey, please sit down,” Janet says. “We need to have a talk.”

“This better not be what I think it is,” Andy says, walking over to the other chair and dropping into it.

We’re facing each other across the coffee table, Andy resting his elbows on his knees as he glares at me. His expression softens a little when he glances at his wife and daughter, but it hardens again when he returns his attention to me.

“Well?” Andy snaps. “Isn’t anybody going to say anything?”

Billie looks at me. My chest tightens when I see the pain in her eyes, the desire to be anywhere other than here, to be doing anything other than this.

“Andy,” I say. “I want to tell you I care about your daughter very much. Hell, that’s an understatement. Billie and I… we’re not in this for some crazy fling. We want to be together, properly be together, as a couple.”

Billie and I agreed to hold off on sharing all the other stuff, the ferocity with which I need to claim her, our desire to get her pregnant as soon as possible. Our first goal is to get Andy to accept the basic fact that we’re together, and then we can go from there.
