“Never said you were a bitch, Kelsey.”

His smile smooths the sting of his words.

I laugh and shake my head, taking his hand in mine. I tug him toward the front door. Tension seeps into him with every step closer to the door, and I turn to face him.

“This house is great, but it’s my father’s. Same with the car. He gave it to me to make sure I learn about responsibility. I didn’t make this money, and I don’t own any of this, a fact my dad doesn’t shy away from telling me every chance he gets.”

I shake off thoughts of my disapproving daddy to focus on the beautiful, tightly-wound man in front of me.

“It doesn’t matter, Kelsey. You and me, we’re not a good fit.”

“Bullshit.” I turn away and unlock the front door, pushing the heavy door open and motioning for Coop to go inside.

“Just because it’s not news you want to hear doesn’t make it bullshit.”

“Agreed.”

I shut the door behind us and smile.

“It’s bullshit because it just is. I seem to remember us fitting pretty well together. In a bathroom stall no less.” I can’t stop thinking about it. Can’t stop wanting more nights. More orgasms. More.

He laughs and tries to extricate himself from my touch.

“Doesn’t matter how fun last night was. You are not cut out for my life, babe.”

I know what he’s doing, and the truth is that it’s only making me hotter for him.

“I’m not afraid of you, Coop. You or your lifestyle.”

“Then you’re not as smart as I thought you were.”

He shakes his head, blue eyes staring deep into mine with something that a silly girl might confuse for affection. But I’m not a silly girl.

“Whatever else you are, Coop. Gangster or mechanic, biker or criminal, you are also a good and decent man. There’s nothing wrong with that.”

I put a hand on his chest and step back with a smile. “Any other objections?”

“Kelsey,” he sighs and shakes his head. “Last night was fun. Amazing in fact, but this isn’t going anywhere, you know that, right? You don’t have it in your pretty little head that we’re gonna fall in love and live happily ever after. Do you?”

“No.” My shoulders fall, and I take a step back. “Drink?”

“It’s a little early, but sure. Are we alone?”

I laugh out loud at the look of abject horror on his face.

“Relax, Coop. This isn’t some secret ploy to get you to meet my parents before the shotgun wedding. It’s just a drink.”

He nods and motions for me to go first.

Inside the living room, I cross to the bar to pour drinks for two. Happy Daddy isn’t here to ruin the mood.

“I don’t want happily ever after with you, Coop. Not just you, with anyone. Hell, I’m not even sure I believe in it. But I had fun last night, and I wouldn’t be opposed to another night—or two—of fun.”

I could use more fun in my life, preferably of the hot and naked man variety of fun. “You don’t like to have fun, Coop?”

“Kelsey,” he says and accepts the shot of tequila. “I’m not the kind of fun a girl like you wants.”

“That’s where you’re wrong.” I knock back the shot with a smile and slam it down on the ornate coffee table. “You are exactly the kind of fun I want. The kind of fun I need. I’m not interested in some trust fund dick who only wants to fuck me to get close to my father. I want someone who wants me for me, even if it’s just for a hot lay.”

His lips quirk into a smile, and I feel as if I’m making progress.

“Why me?”

“Because you’re hot, and you’re a guaranteed orgasm. I like that about you. A lot.”

I pour two more shots, and feeling bold, maybe even a little bit brave, I take Coop’s lap instead of the plush sofa cushion.

“A lot, Coop.”

He laughs and knocks back the shot.

“So, you’re all about the orgasms, huh?”

I nod and lick my lips. “Getting them. Giving them. Sharing them. You gave me two in one night, so I’d say that makes you a man worth pursuing.”

His hands tighten on my hips, and when I start to grind against the growing ridge behind his zipper, he lets out a sexy little groan that hits me right in the clit.

“Is that why you brought me here?”

I shake my head as my hips continue to move. “You insisted on driving me home, remember?”

“Yeah,” he sighs.

“But now that I have you here, I’m all about taking advantage of an excellent opportunity. What about you, Coop? What do you want?”

Chapter Ten

Coop

You.

It’s on the tip of my tongue to say it, to tell Kelsey that I want her. That I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her, how bad I want her to cover me in her scent. That I want nothing more than to bend her over the sofa and fuck her until my cock is covered in her juices and my name drips from her lips. But I don’t say any of that.
