Chapter 24

Grace

I still feel twitchy and on edge, and I could blame the conversation I had with Trenton earlier, but I know that’s not the only reason.

Knowing he’s so close and yet so far away is what gets me out of the guest bed at Misty’s.

He agreed to help with the threesome, and although it felt like a literal kick to the gut, he didn’t offer to put that into action tonight. He didn’t even walk me through the clubhouse when we got back, even though we could hear laughter inside. He walked me around the edge of the clubhouse to Misty’s front door.

I went straight upstairs, and that’s where I’ve been for the last couple of hours.

Trying to sleep proved fruitless. Pacing didn’t help.

And now that I’m slowly pulling the back door of the clubhouse open, I realize I have no plan. When I dart down the hallway, I know I’ve been spotted. The guys and Slick, who are in the living room, are trained professionals, spending many years each in combat scenarios, and that just doesn’t get turned off when they’re at home and relaxing. They are always alert and ready to react at a moment’s notice.

The long hallway stares back at me, numerous closed doors, making me realize my mistake. I know which room I was heading for, but I have no idea which one is his. It was stupid of me to think they might be labeled. This is their home, not some high school hallway with numbers and name placards outside.

I stand in the hallway, hands clasped together as I try to build the courage to scuttle across the hallway door once again to go back to Misty’s. I’m whispering to myself, trying to convince my head that no one will think it’s weird that I’m darting around the clubhouse at night on the tips of my toes, when a shadow blocks the light from the living room.

“Covert mission?” he asks, the smile on his face contradicting the flat tone of his voice.

“I, umm.” I shake my head.

What could I possibly say right now that doesn’t make me look like a compete crazy person?

I could tell him I was scared at Misty’s, but I don’t want him going all protector on me.

I could tell him I was bored and couldn’t sleep, but that wouldn’t explain why I was slinking around instead of just joining them in the living room when I entered the clubhouse.

“I’m really horny.” Fuck, that probably isn’t the best reason either, especially after the conversation earlier.

He cocks an eyebrow at me, the smile disappearing completely from his face.

“That so?”

I nod, once again digging in my feet instead of laughing it off and walking away. He inches closer, making me feel a little caged as he blocks the hallway. I don’t know if he’s trying to seem intimidating, but he does. I also don’t want to inspect why it’s seriously turning me on, making my words begin to turn into actual truths rather than just a way to stun him.

“Really horny or just a little horny?” His voice is whispered with the perfect hint of a growl mixed in.

The sound sends chills racing down my body in anticipation. This part, the sex and attraction, was never an issue for us. We could light each other’s fires with a simple look.

“A lot,” I answer, my eyes locked on his lips as his tongue traces the lower one.

I reach for him, brushing my hands down the erection straining in his jeans before clasping his zipper between two fingers. I don’t know what I plan to do right here in the middle of the damn hallway where anyone could round the corner and see, but he doesn’t stop me. It feels like a challenge, making me want to throw one right back at him.

I grip him, his hot, hard cock filling my hand as I take another step closer, pressing my aching breasts against his chest.

“Did you talk with your friends?” I stroke the length of him as best I can in the restrictive jeans. “Maybe one of them is ready to play.”

My heart rate kicks up as he looks down at me, eyes narrowing as if he trying to see inside the deepest parts of me.

Instead of turning to go grab one of the other guys, a low rumble bubbles from his lips as he picks me up, my hand still lodged in his jeans.

In a flash, he’s walking with me in his arms, but he’s not carrying me to the living room to lay me out in front of the group and telling them to take turns. We’re traveling deeper down the hallway to the second to last room on the left. The door doesn’t even make a creak when he swings it open, and I take note of that, knowing it’ll be easier to come and go from here without being detected if that situation is needed.
