He rolls his head on the bed, sleepy eyes looking in my direction.

“You can stay,” he says.

Can stay, not I want you here.

I guess I should take not getting asked to leave as a win. We both get cleaned up, but he doesn’t reach for me after he turns out the lights.

Chapter 25

Grinch

Falling asleep next to her was nearly impossible, but the exhaustion from the amazing sex finally took over. Staying asleep posed to be an even bigger issue. When I wake with the soft lights of the sunrise, I know I can’t stay in bed.

I’ve never been so torn between wanting to kick a woman out of my bed and wanting to pull her to my chest.

Either choice is the wrong choice, so that leaves me with the only right decision. I have to get out of this room. I climb out of the bed and dress as quickly as I can manage in silence, grateful for all of my tactical training that has enabled me to remain quiet.

The clubhouse is completely silent, the oddness of it forces me into the kitchen. Coffee should be the first thing on my mind, but I reach for a beer in the fridge instead, popping the top and immediately putting it to my lips as I lean against the counter.

My eyes land on the entrance to the kitchen and I realize that staying in here is bad news. All I can think about is the hallway leading to the woman left in my bed. When I get the urge to go back in there with her, I leave the kitchen and head to the garage.

There’s no denying how both of us reacted to the mention of others fucking her. What started as a way to turn her off of the situation made us both come harder than ever. I was certain that a finger in her ass would make her jolt away and tell me to stop, but she pressed back against me, shifting her hips closer and begging for more.

We’ve had a lot of sex, but sex when you’re eighteen and twenty isn’t the same as sex when you’re in your thirties. It never even crossed my mind to touch her there when we were younger. Now, I can’t help but wonder about all the things we could’ve explored but never did.

“A little early for a beer, isn’t it?” Aro asks with a sloppy grin on his face.

I point to the brown bottle in his own hand. “Says the guy drinking a beer.”

His grin widens as I take a seat. “The difference is you just got up. We haven’t been to bed yet. You’re having breakfast. This is our night cap.”

I look around the group, watching Slick, Ugly, and Spade nodding in agreement, drunken grins on each of their faces.

“You’re not having a night cap?” I ask Boomer when I notice the energy drink in his hand.

“I actually went to bed,” he says. “Got seven hours of sleep and woke up to find them out here.”

“We didn’t wake you up,” Spade says. “We came outside at midnight. We followed the quiet-time rules.”

Boomer shakes his head, but a small smile is playing on his lips. “I didn’t say you woke—You know what? Doesn’t even matter. Cheers.”

I hold up my beer in mock celebration before tilting it to my lips.

“We never saw your girl sneak out of your room,” Aro prods.

“She’s still there,” I mutter.

“Messy,” Boomer murmurs, but when I look back over at him, he seems perfectly content to continue reading the ingredients list of his drink.

“I have no idea why you seem so out of sorts right now,” Ugly begins. “It didn’t sound like you guys were arguing before we left the clubhouse.”

I don’t know if considering a threesome with one of these guys is a good idea if anger spikes at just the thought of the time I shared with Grace earlier being overheard.

I have to keep in mind that this is something she wants, and something I vowed to follow through with to get her out of my system.

“Do orgasms always leave you this grumpy?” Ugly asks.

“No, remember last month when he—”

“I need one of you to fuck Grace with me,” I blurt.

If there were crickets in New Mexico in January, we’d be hearing them right now.

Everyone in the garage just stares at me—all but Boomer looking like they can’t believe I just said it, the alcohol in their systems giving them doubts.

“I’ll do it,” Aro says, deciding he heard me correctly.

“Me first,” Ugly says, swatting at the guy’s chest.

“She’s a hot piece of ass,” Spade says as he nods in offer.

“Messy,” Boomer says again, and I choose to focus on him first.

“What’s wrong with Grace?”

He shakes his head. “There’s nothing wrong with her, Grinch, but can’t you see how bad of an idea this is? You’ll regret it.”
