STOP UNDRESSING ME WITH YOUR EYES

NATHAN

Karina didn’t believe might have not I was serious, but I was going to prove it to her.

Waiting outside of the club, I leaned against the brick wall in the alley. My arms crossed over my chest, keeping the night’s cool breeze of Summer from pricking at my skin. The only good the wind was doing was keeping those dirty thoughts of Karina’s body dancing on mine away.

At least I didn’t need to explain my actions to anyone. If there was a heaven or hell, Mr. Vasiliev would have already known. And to be fair, I never claimed to be a saint. I was much more of a sinner than anything.

Still, I thought back to what Karina had said. Was I the same as Mr. Prince?

No, definitely not. We may have not been gentlemen and kept shit to ourselves, but I wasn’t after fame or wealth. And I sure as hell wasn’t a murderer.

What was I after then, aside from keeping Mr. Vasiliev’s wishes from dying out?

I glanced over at the sound of the side door opening.

“You be careful. If creeps on the street see you coming out of here, they’ll pounce you.” The guard smiled as he held the door open.

“I’ll be fine.” Karina appeared exiting the door, smiling at the man.

The guard noticed me as he looked in my direction and I smirked at his next words. “I can always take you home.”

Karina followed his gaze to me and sighed. “He’s not someone to worry about, just the family bodyguard.”

I smiled, pushing myself off the wall. I held my hand out to her as she headed in my direction, but she walked right past me. A light chuckle escaped my lips. She was still wearing my blazer. My eyes trailed over her back.

“Stop undressing me with your eyes.”

I didn’t need to look to undress her. “My mind does that all on its own.”

She turned almost instantly. Her eyes piercing daggers into mine. “Can you not be your usual annoying self?”

“I could be charming, but the last time I followed your lead, we ended up in bed together.” Her hand slapped me across my left cheek. A stinging sensation vibrated across my face.

Ok, I deserved that.

Her footsteps echoed down the alley. I straightened up and jogged over to her, following her pace. “Have you eaten yet?”

“I ate before we got to Cherry Pops.”

“And how long ago was that?” Considering Bunny’s schedule, I assumed it was at least a few hours since it was past midnight.

“I don’t know, but I’m not hungry.”

“Then you tell me when you are, and we can get something.” I wrapped an arm loosely around her shoulder, leading her out of the alleyway. Ignoring the looks we received, I walked her over to my motorcycle.

“It looks shiny and new.”

I chuckled, grabbing the helmet from the handle. “Yeah, fixed up the engine too.”

Holding it out to her, my eyes drifted up to her face, but she fixated on the object in my hand. “You’re not going to drop me off at some station, are you?”

“Not unless we’re getting on a bus together.” I smiled. She must have noticed from the corner of her eye because she shook her head in response and took the helmet, putting it on.

I climbed onto the bike, and she did the same. Her slender arms wrapped tightly around my waist. For the first time in a long time, I felt content. The smile on my lips grew as I snuck a peek over my shoulder. “I hope you’re ready, Princess.”

I turned the key and revved the engine. Kicking the bike stand, I drove off.

Dark skies hovered above, but the city lights led the way. Swerving through cars, Karina’s grip tightened around me. She didn’t need to be scared; I wouldn’t let anything bad happen to her. That’s why I was back, after all. I followed down the street until we hit a red light and took the second turn. The path was darker than the streets, but the stars and my headlight kept the darkness from overpowering our sight.

Within minutes, we made it to a park. I slowed down before stopping at a spot near the grass. Looking back at her, I smiled. “I hope the ride gave you lots of time to think of questions to ask.”

“No, I was too busy, scared you’d take a sharp turn.” Karina pulled the helmet off. Her brown curls fell to her shoulders as she shook the mess away. Not that she needed. Karina always looked irresistible, no matter what she wore or how her hair looked.

“Promise I’ll go slower next time.”

She raised an eyebrow at me and smirked. I chuckled, realizing how my words came out. “Not like that, unless you want it slow, but from what I recall you don’t—”

Her hand flew to my mouth, keeping me from saying anything further. “I’d much rather leave that in the past.”

She could claim that was what she wanted, but I was sure she didn’t. Still, I shrugged my shoulders. Reaching up, I pulled her hands from my face. “Whatever you want, Princess.”

“And stop calling me princess.” Karina pushed herself off the bike with the help of my shoulders.

“All right, Miss Vasiliev.”

“Nathan!”

“Yes?” I smirked. I hopped off the motorcycle and kicked the bike stand down. Turning off the engine, I pulled the key out of the ignition, stuffing it into my pocket.

“Do you know where exactly you’ve brought me?” She questioned, walking down a path.

I followed beside her. “No, not really.”

“Lunar Hill State Park.”

I glanced over at her and raised an eyebrow. “I don’t see the statue.”

“We have to walk farther down to see it. It’s also where I almost lost my virginity once.”

Oh. I glanced over at her as she stared at me, shaking her head. She chuckled softly. “It’s not something I’m proud of.”

All right, so I was still fucking up, unintentionally. If I had known, I wouldn’t have brought her. “I thought it had a nice view of the city.”

“And that’s one line guys use just before the girl looks back at them. Then a couple of minutes later.” Karina clasped her hands together and tilted her head towards me. “His hands up her skirt.”

“I take it that’s happened to you?”

“Several occasions.” She nodded, moving her hands behind her back. “Not that it went anywhere because, as you know, my first time was nowhere near here.”

“I promise that won’t happen,” I told her as I looked her way. “We’re just here so you can get the answers you’re looking for.”

“Are you really going to answer them or brush them off?”

“The view of the skyline in the distance will distract me from the fact that you’re here and I can pretend I’m alone. So, go ahead.” Although, I knew that would not happen.

I could never forget Karina and I’ve tried.
