Jayme

Even as Tripp kissed him, he was still fucking livid. He thought he was okay to let Tripp dance with someone else, that was why he gave him the go ahead. He was sorely mistaken. As soon as that guy pulled Tripp in close, he felt like his insides were fighting each other. He tried to cool off with having a few more beers, but that didn’t help. Then when the guy put his hand on Tripp’s throat, he couldn’t take it anymore. That was a possessive move that the guy had no right to make.

Not that he had the right to be possessive either. They weren’t together together, but they kinda were. They were sleeping together, and they were at the club together. That was enough togetherness for him to stake a claim. At least, in his head it was. Tripp didn’t seem to mind either.

Tripp pulled back from the kiss, his gorgeous eyes meeting Jayme’s. “Dance with me.”

He sighed and nodded. He was in between buzzed and drunk. He lost just enough of his inhibitions to dance. Tripp stayed close, dancing against him while he kinda swayed to the music. Tripp was smiling brightly though, which made it worthwhile.

“Oh my God. Jayme?” squawked a familiar female voice from his right side.

He whipped his head to the right to see Mallory and her sister, Kaylee, standing there looking shocked as fucking hell.

“Mallory?! What the hell are you doing here?!” Jayme exclaimed.

Tripp cocked an eyebrow. “Mallory? Your ex-wife who’s pregnant with your baby, Mallory?”

“Yeah, hi.” Mallory replied to Tripp before looking back at him. “Gay clubs are fun. What the hell are you doing here? Are you two together?”

He looked at Tripp, who was still wrapped in his arms and winced. “Define together? He’s not my boyfriend, if that’s what you mean.”

He let Tripp go and turned to face Mallory. Her mouth opened and closed a few times, before she found the right words. “Are you sleeping with him?”

“That’s none of your fucking business.”

“Well, that’s a yes if I’ve ever heard one.” Mallory scoffed.

“I’m Tripp, by the way,” Tripp said with a little wave.

Mallory shook her head in disbelief. “You’re actually sleeping with a man?” Completely ignoring Tripp, which pissed him off even more.

He just stared at her. He didn’t have to explain himself or his actions to her.

“And what’s with the black eye? I saw it earlier but didn’t get a chance to say anything.”

“I like it rough, what can I say?” He shrugged.

Mallory gave him a disgusted look. “Since when?”

“Since finding someone who’d give it to me the way I want it.”

“Is this the real reason you left me? Have you been gay this whole time?”

“What? No. I left because you lied to me and betrayed my trust. I never even thought about being with a man before Tripp.”

“That’s kinda sweet,” Kaylee said with a small smile.

“Should you even be here?” he said to Mallory, ignoring Kaylee’s comment. “Shouldn’t you be resting or something?”

“Oh my God, you’re such a dick, Jayme. I’m pregnant. I can still go out and have fun, I don’t have to lie around with my feet up all day.”

“What the hell do I know?” He huffed, throwing his arms up. “I don’t know what you can and can’t do while your pregnant.”

“I just can’t drink. I can still dance and have fun.”

“Okay.”

“I’m still in shock here. I don’t know what to think about this,” Mallory said, motioning between him and Tripp.

“You don’t have to think anything about it. My sex life is no concern of yours, just like yours is no concern of mine.”

She nodded slowly. “Okay. Okay. I can deal with that.”

“I think you guys look cute together.” Kaylee grinned.

“Thanks,” Tripp chirped.

Jayme rolled his eyes. “Come on, Tripp. I need another beer,” he said, and grabbed Tripp’s arm to drag him away.

Mallory and her sister said goodbye and moved off into the crowded dance floor. Jayme only stopped when he got to the bar. He ordered a shot, and a beer. It was time to get drunk. That little conversation right there had him sobered up. Shit. Mallory knew he and Tripp were sleeping together. She would tell Matt’s wife no doubt. Oh, Monday morning is going to be great.

He threw back his shot, and then pounded half his beer. Tripp stood next to him and watched.

“Sooo that was Mallory, huh? She’s pretty,” Tripp said.

He nodded. “Yep. You know we’re going to get shit at work for this, right?”

Tripp shrugged. “I don’t give a fuck. The guys can say whatever the fuck they want. Doesn’t matter to me. Nothing that they say matters to me.”

Jayme stared at him, impressed with his line of thinking. “Okay.”

“You on the other hand, you matter to me,” Tripp said, his gaze locked on Jayme’s.

His heart fluttered. He nodded. “You matter to me too, Tripp.”
