“Fuck you for informing them of me, you self-centered bitch. I’ll see you on the other fucking side, then we can finally be together.” He hits her, using his fist to mar her beautiful skin and I charge just as he cocks his gun. He isn’t ready for me, but I get to him, and we are scrambling then.

“What the fuck!” He yells when I get him on the ground and start hammering blows to his face. It feels good, to hurt the man who hurt the woman I would kill for. My rage is growing yet being fed with the sound of the blows. And knowing he saw me fucking her that day in the window, the day I made her see herself in a way I do, only fuels me on. I don’t stop, not for one second and then I’m shot short when I hear her.

“Theo, please, stop. Don’t. I need you.” She worries about my safety, but she doesn’t know what I’m trained to do, but worse, what I’m capable of doing when she is threatened. I look to her and he gets the upper hand, punching me in the face, and then my side so hard, I fall to the side. Fuck that hurt. But I waste no time, scrambling to my feet with him. He points his cocked gun at her and I take mine, pointing it to his temple. He breaths heavy, and my voice is low.

“You pull that trigger and I will end you.” I seethe.

“That’s what I want. Her and I in death.” This sick fuck.

“Theo…” she cries out.

“No, baby. Don’t you worry.”

“Please. Stop. Dax. Stop.” He waves his hand and his head rolls against the end of my gun, and I almost pull the trigger, but he stiffens his hand and tightens his finger on his own trigger.

“You won’t be able to save her and if I don’t leave here dead, I won’t fucking stop. I will kill her and you and everything she loves, even that pretty little sister of yours.” He chuckles and that’s it. He nailed his coffin.

“Hey baby? What did I say to you the day you went to the club with my sister?”

“What?” She cries and I look at her, give her my wicked grin, nodding and letting her know her keeper is in control. And I watch where she lets the control I always have taken over and the trust washes over her. But shes no dumb woman, no, no, my puppet knows what to do and how to play along. Keep him distracted.

“What are you talking about, Theo? Please this isn’t the time.”

“She’s damn right, it isn’t!” He screams, spit flying from his mouth. He looks at me through his peripherals and I give him an even more menacing, evil smile.

“Answer the question, puppet. What did I say to you when you threatened to let someone else take you home from the club?” She softly whispers, and you would almost miss it. Dropping her head, she smiles slowly.

“You said you would empty a clip in the head of any man who dared to touch me.” I see it then, he realizes and goes to pull the trigger, but I’m faster.

“Good girl.”

“Fuck!” He yells.

I pull the trigger, hitting him right in the temple. Instantly, he falls, and I know it’s a shot that ended him. I aimed to finish the man who was going to kill Hanna. To kill my woman. My one and only thing I’m fucking living right for.

“Theo!” she screams, opening her eyes, and I run to her. She sits there, covered in splatters of his blood, her hair wet from a shower.

I pull out my cell, and I call the cops. Untying her from the chair, I hold her in my arms against me, and she clings so tightly, as if I’ll evaporate into thin air.

“You’re safe. You are safe,” I tell her when I end the call, and within five minutes, the cops are here.

I covered her up with my jacket and blankets while they asked her questions. I have to listen to what he said, and if I could, I’d bring him back from the dead and kill him again. He had her at his mercy for two hours. Taunting her, spending time ridiculing her, telling her awful things he wanted to do to her. What he had done to the woman he held captive in revenge for not having Hanna. I always said I was a monster, but no. Dax, he was the real monster. And now that monster rots in hell. When they checked his truck, they found a bound Angelic. She was terribly emaciated, but she was alive.

The cops finish with their statements, and then we have to call and talk to Detective Ares, which took far too long. My family all showed up and rallied around Hanna, but I just wanted them all gone. She hasn’t showered the blood off, and she’s spent.
