This morning’s turn of events was still clearly etched in her mind. Her body had woken up before her brain. She felt warmth cascade over her and she let out a small contented sigh, somewhere in the distance she could vaguely hear the low, sensual murmuring of her name. Her body shifted slightly against something hard and it was this that suddenly had every voice in her head screaming loudly, jolting her into sudden awareness. Forcing her eyes open, she was met with Kai’s face, mere inches from her own. His dark hair tousled, his sexy brown eyes were glazed with desire, his jaw, housed with dark stubble was slightly agape, and his bare chest, complete with a trail of dark hair, was inflating and deflating at a frivolous pace. His half open eyes locked on hers and reality hit them both.

“Myla?” He whispered, surprised.

She gulped and tore her eyes from his, letting them float downwards as they took in the scene. She was on his side of the bed, tangled up in his arms and legs, draped over his body like some kind of hussy. Her eyes came to a standstill on her hand, her hand that was right on his groin, her hand that was gripping his morning hard on. Holy shit. She dropped it like it was a fire work about to blow any second, and scrambled away from him, apologizing profusely.

“Kai, I’m so sorry, I don’t know what happened,” she whispered mortified. Her whole body was on fire with complete embarrassment and she struggled to look at him. She felt uncomfortable as she stood stoic with her eyes clamped to the floor. “I’m sorry.”

“Myla Fox!”

She jumped automatically at the harshness of his voice shrilling down her ear. She turned her head and opened her eyes to look at him, his eyes danced over her face before returning to meet her gaze. “Forget this morning, Myla. It was nothing,” he said quietly, with a small smile.

Truth was, he was struggling to forget it. Waking up this morning and finding her body draped over his, had all his testosterone pumping like wildfire. He liked the way she felt in his arms, he liked the way her leg was hooked around his, he liked the way her dark hair was tumbled over his shoulder and he especially like the way her hand was sensually rubbing his dick causing her name to fly, with ease, from his lips. This was what he wanted, what he craved, what he was searching for. Someone to wake up with in the morning, someone he could call his own, but seeing the horror cloud over her face as it registered in her brain at the small act of intimacy she had bestowed upon him, and the way she had recoiled away from him with such speed, had left him feeling like utter shit.

“Tonight, I’ll take the floor and you have the bed,” he mumbled, breaking the silence, but still holding her gaze.

“I’m so embarrassed, Kai,” she finally spoke, dropping her eyes towards something invisible over his shoulder. “It will never happen again, I promise.”

“Don’t be embarrassed, Myla. I knew you wouldn’t be able to resist me for long,” he replied with a chuckle, attempting to turn it into a joke to mask his disappointment.

She automatically swatted her hand into his chest, playfully. The dull thud of the contact echoed around the small space between them. “You are not all that, Kai Baxter,” she mocked, rolling her eyes.

“Maybe not to you, Myla, but I will be to someone out there, one day,” he muttered. He turned himself away from her and looked out towards the rest of the Fox family disembarking from the car in front.

“Wait there,” he ordered. He opened the door and escaped the car. Striding around to Myla’s side, he opened hers and motioned for her to exit the car.

“Are you guys ready to Waltz and Salsa your way around the studio this morning?” Grace asked. She bobbed up and down excitedly in front of them.

“I can’t wait,” Myla replied dryly, forcing a sarcastic smile in her sister’s direction.

Clapping her hands, she squealed. “Let’s go then, come on.” Then turned on her sneakers and danced towards the door of the studio.

Myla went to follow her, but was held back by the firm clasp of a hand on her wrist. Turning around, Kai took a step closer to her and ran his thumb over her cheek. “Forget this morning Myla, let’s just remember why we are both here in the first place. Okay?”

“I love you,” he added before she had chance to respond.

Her eyes bulged in her head and panic consumed her body, her face drained of all color. She stood like a statue, struggling to comprehend the words he had just uttered. This had to be a joke, surely. “What?” She squeaked, sounding like a mouse.

“Come on you two love birds,” encouraged Stan behind Myla “let’s not keep Fabio waiting.”

With a small smile twitching at the corner of his mouth, he leant his head towards her ashen face, “Remember Myla, everything is for show, it was said for your father’s benefit,” he whispered towards her ear, then walked away in the direction of everyone else.

“I knew that,” she muttered. She pivoted on her pumps and made her way into the dance studio, relief washing over her.

“Okay, is everyone here?” Fabio asked as he walked up and down clapping his hands, commanding everyone’s attention. He looked to be in his early thirties, he was toned and tanned and had a jet-black mane of hair tied tightly in a ponytail at the nape of his neck. He spoke with a lisp and a thick Italian accent laced his words. He wore a bright yellow open shirt covered in sparkles, and his black trousers dazzled with black sequins along the seams. He looked like a reject from a dance competition gone wrong.

“Is Casper coming?” Myla asked through gritted teeth as she leant sideways towards Grace.

“No, he said he couldn’t make it.”

“Thank god for that, I don’t think I’m ready to face the prick yet.”

The loud clicking of fingers was suddenly prevalent as Fabio moved his hand frantically in front of Myla’s vision, “Attention this way please, ladies,” he snapped with raised eyebrows.

“Can you dance, Juliet?” She heard Kai ask in her right ear.

She shook her head and turned to look at him with an apologetic look. “I know the actions to YMCA, that’s as far as my dancing goes.”

His face broke out into a boyish grin, “Wow. YMCA? Lucky me, hey?”
