I’m not imagining it, she’s interested.

Her eyes slide down and widen as she gasps again when she catches a glimpse of my thick meat through my pants.

I casually shift my leg, giving her a private show for another second before her mom reappears.

“I knew it!” she almost shouts, and I feel her daughter jump a little off her stool.

I press my tongue against the roof of my mouth to stop myself from saying the first thing that comes to mind.

Recalling the fantasy of Jacinta in my mouth instead of this stuff they’re peddling as coffee.

It was free after all. Play nice Kyle.

“I knew I recognized you,” Adelle says, even louder this time. The diner has frozen behind us like a still life painting, waiting for her to give the gossip mill something to chew on.

I figure my cover might be blown, but in all honesty? Another half a minute sitting next to her daughter, her fucking tits resting right on the counter?

I’d blow more than just my fucking cover.

“You’re that guy from the TV. That fella who does those commercials…” she says, her voice trailing off when she sees my expression.

I have a distinctive figure, and some might say the same for the face. But I’m a little relieved to hear she’s wrong.

She could ruin my chances with the development if people knew who I was straight away.

And it’s the first time I think about my business since laying eyes on Jacinta, and it’s suddenly not just the coffee giving me a bad taste in my mouth.

“Uh. Sorry, I’ve never worked in TV,” I explain politely. “I’m in… uh …in construction,” I tell them both.

It’s kinda true. It is true.

Both Jacinta and her mom smile knowing smiles.

Jacinta sighs and then glances down at my crotch for the fifteenth time.

“Well you’ve got a TV face,” Adelle exclaims, looking more than a little disappointed I’m not as famous as she thought before she’s called away again.

I gotta get Jacinta outta here.

“So I was wondering what’s to see and do in your little Cherry,” I ask Jacinta, not even minding the terrible innuendo.

The sooner she figures out exactly what I want, the better.

It’ll be less of a surprise for her when she finally feels me sliding into her tight little hole.

But I can’t help wondering about all the ‘what-ifs’.

Something as amazing as Jacinta literally dropping into my lap?

It’s almost too good to be true, but I know a golden opportunity when I see it.

But something this good can’t come without a drawback, right?

“Maybe you could show me around?” I ask her quickly, not even giving her time to think about it.

Her eyes wide and then her brows knit, looking confused and then disappointed.

Is there someone else? Who is he? Just point him out Jacinta and I’ll take care of—

“There’s not exactly anything to see let alone do in Cherry,” she says, breaking my reverie.

Relaxing me, for now.

But I need to know just how available she is.

I need to know what I’m gonna be up against, whoever the lucky bastard is.

Do you think a girl like Jacinta’s just gonna be walking around, all on her own?

A body like hers, a sweet face and smile like that?

She probably has the whole male population for a hundred miles after her, I’ll bet.

“Unless you’ve got something else to do… Someone else to see,” I murmur, pretending that I might not need a guide after all.

Hoping she can’t see how obvious my feelings are.

“Oh, it’s not that!” she says loudly, gripping my forearm for a second before letting go in embarrassment.

“It’s just—”

“Just what?” I urge, preparing myself for the worst. “…It’s just that there’s literally nothing to do in Cherry.”

She sighs apologetically.

And fighting the urge to brush a strand of her hair back from her face, I correct her. “Oh, I dunno. I’ve seen something worth doing already,” I confess. “But I don’t want to keep you from anything else… boyfriend, husband?” I ask.

I have to ask.

It’s too forward, too soon. But I need to fucking know.

Her face falls and she spins in her seat.

“I should go,” she says in a low voice, her shoulder falling so far I wonder if she’s not suddenly ill.

I stand, ready to go grab a hold of her.

She can’t just leave.

I just got here.

She’s mine.

“How’s the pie?” Adelle calls out, following my eyes to her daughter, who she calls after. “Thanks for dropping my purse off. See ya tonight.”

Without even looking at her I fish for the stack of bills in my pants, slapping a couple down on the counter.

“It’s on the hou—” Adelle stops short, ignoring me, starting after Jacinta as she fingers the two crisp fifties I’ve left as a tip.

A small price to pay to get away from the diner and closer to what I know I’ve really come to Cherry for.
