“Then let me in.”

She thought he wouldn’t do it, but then the lock clicked, and the door opened. He seemed weaker, thinner. She crossed the space between them and threw herself into his arms. He crushed her to him, and his mouth came down on hers. He kissed her until she couldn’t breathe. After some time, she turned her head to suck in a breath.

“Are you sure?” he pleaded.

She lifted her chin and tilted her head back to expose her neck. “I’ve never been more sure.”

He lowered his head, and his teeth grazed her skin. With a pinch of pain, she felt them sank deep into her neck, felt him draw on her life source and make them into one.
