I watch him inwardly cringe, and I’m sure he’d cut his own tongue out right now if he was given the opportunity.

He moves the tray and leans over to kiss me. “I’m an asshole. I’m not saying you can’t do it. All I’m saying is I trained on a similar course for months, and I still felt like I wanted to puke my guts out on the first day.”

I wrap my arms around his neck and inwardly straighten my spine. I’m going to make damn sure I complete this course.

Even if it kills me.
