“Go on,” he said, not trailing down to look at my lips.

“Well, we had a connection. And I trusted him. Anyways, so then I had to fire my best friend’s boyfriend to use him to get information. Now, some crazy person is trying to kill me, and I cut my feet into shreds walking through the ‘Cabin in the Woods’ situation we are in.”

Cole took a deep breath before looking at my face again. “How many shares do you hold?”

That wasn’t really the question I expected. I looked at his face for more than a second before I sighed, “I own 46.4%.”

He nodded his head, and we sat in silence for a moment before he uttered, “And you and Miles, how deep is this connection?”

I narrowed my eyes, “As deep as your connection with Jamie.”

He laughed. “That really bothers you, doesn’t it?”

“No, why would it bother me?” The fire crackled almost in perfect time to call me on my bullshit. He moved his hand to touch my arm. The fire was blazing, reflecting off his face showing all the incredible features. His root beer eyes started to look down at my lips.

My nipples hardened, and I realized I was completely naked under the blanket. He moved closer, and within seconds I took charge and kissed him hard. He pulled back. My face flushed with red as the blood filled it. “Really, I’m not into fuck boy games. This is the second time you did this, and it’s…” Before I could finish my sentence, he moved his hands under my blanket, grabbed my hips, and shoved me on his lap. The blanket dropped, and I was sitting on him fully naked. He shifted his face to suck on my breast. It was soft and filled with passion. Then, pulling up on my neck, he leaned backward, moving me to my back.

My legs wrapped around his waist, and his defined arms hovered over my sides. He looked at me with intention. Like I was the most important person to him. It was not only with desire but something much more. Squinting my eyes, I was trying to read him, but it didn’t take long before he whispered, “I’m not playing games, Sophie, you have only fucked men that play games, so you don’t know what it really feels like.” He stood up with a jerk and left the room.

“What the actual fuck…” I yelled out, pissed and confused. Standing up, no longer caring that I was naked, I went storming after him. The hall had three doors, so I opened the first one. The room had pink boxes with unicorns and baby pink blankets sticking out of them. Walking in, I pulled on the pink blanket. A picture of a pregnant woman standing next to a baby crib with him holding her belly was the first thing in the box. Packing back up the picture and the blanket, I was numb. Marching inside the room, Cole strolled up behind me, grabbed the door quickly, and slammed it shut.

“Oh My Gosh! You’re a real piece of shit!” My eyes flared red.

“Just your type,” he snapped back before throwing some clothes in my direction.

“Where’s your wife, and baby?” my voice sounded like a jealous girlfriend instead of his employer. Ignoring me, he moved around me and continued to walk back into the kitchen. I looked down at the outfit he had given me. It was a t-shirt and some sweatpants. As I made my way out of the hall, I noticed his firm figure walking past the cabin window. He was outside, leaving. Looking for something for my feet, I found a pair of black tactical boots next to the door. My feet were shooting with pain but my anger took over and I pushed the pain away.

They were about four sizes too big, but I put them on anyway. He wasn’t going to get off that easy. Acting like he was the town hero, playing at a kid’s camp, helping out the local pizza owner’s son learn to wakeboard, when deep inside, he was a lying, cheating asshole. Throwing the oversized outfit on that he gave me, I looked like a homeless person. The crisp morning air surrounded me when I stormed out onto the front porch. Cole was gone, but the view was beautiful. Woods surrounded the entire cabin. Nothing but nature filled the air, and an opening surrounded the place. It had stacked cut wood placed between two large trees. A nice fire ring and a gravel oval driveway that had a large pole barn facing it a little distance from the house.

A large rumble filled the pole barn and out appeared a cherry-red muscle car. He pulled up next to the front porch entrance and got out to open the passenger door.

“Did your wife buy you all this expensive stuff because I know the $15.10 an hour I pay you can’t afford half this”

His entire face looked pissed. “Yes, she did,” his voice flat.

I was stunned that he just admitted he was married, I stormed off past him and the car. “Fuck you. I’m walking home…” My entire body was fuming before feeling his hands grab me hard. Trying to fight him off, he bent down and tossed me like a rag doll over his shoulder. “Let me down,” I cried out, hitting his back with punches but he was just made of steel. That man didn’t feel even a jolt with my assaults.

“You can’t walk with your feet cut up, and I’m not letting you take my boots.”

He landed me softly into the passenger side of the car. His face next to mine, he gently moved my legs in and went to buckle my seat belt.

“I’m not a child.” I snapped, fighting him for the seat belt to buckle it.

He grinned, closed my door, and made his way to the driver’s seat. Before moving the car in drive, he put on his sunglasses. He looked at me as he joined me inside the closed space of the vehicle. “You could have fooled me,” he muttered before turning the music all the way up to blaring rock, and leaving his house.
