Harper nods. “Maybe we better stick to the studio from now on,” she adds with a smirk.

“I wish I’d finished my cupcake,” I say sadly as I point towards the soggy remains of Harper’s baking.

She laughs. “I’ll bake some more for you.”

Brady gets out a mop and begins cleaning up the mess. An older man helps him as they attempt to clear away the water.

I walk over to him and put my hand on his arm. “My hero,” I say with a grin. “Imagine how much worse this would’ve been if you weren’t here.”

He shrugs. “I was just doing my job. Too bad the old plumbing system decided to fail right in the middle of the show.”

“Can we talk before I leave? Kay and Jay are coming for me in an hour,” I say, using Brady’s reference to Men in Black to describe my bodyguards/drivers.

He raises an eyebrow at my unexpected request. “Sure, where will you be?”

“Putting on dry clothes, then packing in my room. I’ve got to get all my stuff back in those suitcases.”

He laughs. “Okay, I’ll be up in a little while.”

I give my regards to Chase and Harper who are helping clean up. “The meal was delicious, and I enjoyed watching both of you cook,” I say. “Maybe we could do this again sometime, without the geyser.”

They both laugh while nodding in agreement, but I know my busy schedule will probably get in the way of ever doing this again.

“The talk” I mentioned to Brady is to convince him to keep in touch after I leave. He’s become much more than a friend to me. In fact, I’m attracted to the hunky maintenance man, and I’d like to explore a relationship with him. Could we make a long-distance relationship work?
