I shoved food in my face and had at least one cup of coffee before switching to a mimosa as the hairdresser worked on my head, detangling my sex hair.

“How’s everything going?” A familiar voice asked, and I made eye contact with Alivia in the mirror as she walked into the room. She was wearing the purple suspenders, and I had to bite back a smile.

“How’s our bride feeling?” Alivia asked, going over to Linley.

“Trying not to be nervous,” Linley said.

“Oh, you’re going to be fine,” Martha said, going over to give her a hug as the photographer snapped away.

Alivia checked in with everyone, including me, and I struggled not to blush when she talked to me. I was so distracted by how good she looked I couldn’t even remember what I said to her before she moved on and then left the room again.

“You’ve got mega heart eyes right now,” Natalie said, leaning in and speaking in my ear.

“I don’t know how to stop,” I whispered back.

“Just don’t stare too hard when you’re walking and trip.”

“Thanks for the advice,” I said with a laugh.

Once we all had our makeup and hair done, we took endless pictures in our pajamas before putting our dresses on.

The room was completely silent when Linley walked out from behind a partition to show us her dress.

“You’re so beautiful,” Martha said, wiping tears.

Linley’s dress was lace and long-sleeved on top, with a simple white skirt on the bottom. I’d almost expected her to have a frosted cupcake dress, but that wasn’t Linley. She wore a locket from her grandmother around her neck, and pearls in her hair. Since she was always herself, she was still wearing her purple glasses, even though they didn’t really go with everything else. She’d opted not to wear a veil.

“You’re the most beautiful bride ever,” I said, giving her a hug.

“That’s not true, but thanks,” she said, hugging me back.

Alivia came back to pass out our bouquets, and then before I knew what was happening, we were lining up to walk and the wedding was happening.

I tried not to have nervous giggles as I walked down the aisle and up the steps of the porch, taking each step slowly so I didn’t trip. I made it, and so did everyone else.

Linley was smiling and crying as she walked down the aisle, and I caught a glimpse of Gray’s face shining with pure love for her. It was so beautiful that I couldn’t help crying. Good thing I’d shoved some tissues in the top of my dress, as suggested by Alivia.

When I could take my eyes off Linley and Gray, I searched for her, sitting in the very back. I didn’t think it was my imagination that she wiped her eyes a few times.

I caught her looking at me and met her eyes, our connection hitting me even though we were far away.

The ceremony was quick, the kiss was epic, and then it was time to take pictures and party.

“Let’s get this done so we can go drink and dance!” Linley yelled as the photographer lined us up.

“I’m fucking married!” she yelled, and we all cheered, our bouquets held high in the air.

I was grateful that Linley wanted simple pictures, none of that hoisting the bride in the air stuff.

We did take a few silly pictures, but those were quick. As I waited in line to take an individual picture with her, Alivia came to stand next to me.

“I just needed to tell you how devastatingly beautiful you look right now. If I could, I would throw you over my shoulder and take you back to my room and show my appreciation.” Every word was said with a soft control and my legs almost gave out as I tried to keep my composure.

Her hand brushed my back just a little bit before she stepped away again to help the photographer arrange everyone for another family group shot.

“You okay?” Natalie asked.

“Yup, fine,” I squeaked.
