“Well, thank you for that, love. It’s kind of you to say. But it’s one reason I’ll continue to fight for this, with three people who are compatible. After the divorce, I found a couple who wanted what I did. And we were on track. It wasn’t as much about the connection, than just the pure, unbridled fucking we experienced. Don’t get me wrong, I want to strip you of your knickers and dominate the both of you in the bedroom. But our connection has already formed. It seems easy with you guys. Not that this will be easy. And sure, I won’t be someone I’m not, but no one has a right to know what goes on behind closed doors.”

We’re listening intently to everything he shares, and Charis sidles up next to me, as close as she can get. “It’s never a simple subject explaining this with most people, especially how I failed Katherine, but with you two, it’s a little easier. And hell, I’ve not even gotten my hands on you yet, love.”

There’s something about his Irish accent as he calls Charis the one pet name that is so fucking sexy. “So, what else do you have in store for the night, you two?”

She reaches for her phone, as I study the time on my DVR. “Ah, shit. I need to get going. I have another seven a.m. shift, and someone tired me out with orgasms, so I better run.” She shoots out of bed, picking up remnants of everything she had on from the waist down, and I continue to chat with Stone.

“You okay, Teach? I mean, you have a lot to lose. And we’ve not even scratched the surface of what Charis’s ex will do.”

She leans into view, her red lacy panties covering her fine ass. “I’m petitioning the court to have his rights revoked. I have enough evidence, and with the abuse from the other day when he trapped me in the car, they can’t ignore the X-rays now. It’s how I got the restraining order.”

In a split second, I see a transformation on Stone’s face, as to how I felt when Charis shared this with me just hours ago.

“What the fuck? Love, are you telling me he laid his hands on you?” She’s nowhere in his line of sight, but his question is for her, then he swings his attention to me. “Did you know?”

“Found out a couple hours ago, and yeah, if I get my hands on him—it’s game over.”

She leans back into the screen. “He wasn’t always like that and I sure as hell am not making excuses, but it’s why he can’t just stop by the house. It has to be approved. I have a better lawyer, and with a phone call to her today after chatting with my mom about it, it’s the direction we’re going.”

“Love, lawyers are expensive. I want to make sure you have the best—”

She pushes back into the screen. “I’m good. I have one of the best. Believe me. Meadow comes before anything.”

She hoists her jeans over her beautifully ample hips, and I admire it all. “I better run, you two.” I stand to walk her. “No, stay, chat with Stone a bit longer. I know my way out. Anyway, I’m sure Bridget has a ton of questions. Better me than you. I can escape her, you can’t.” She blows me a kiss, descending down my steps, and sure enough, the voice of Bridget lofts up the stairs until Charis shuts the door behind her.

“So, tell me, Teach, did she taste as good as we thought she would?”

I take in a long, deep breath, rubbing at the scruff of my beard. “Fuck, you’ve ruined me. I’ll never be able to let you two go. Hell, it might cost me my job, but I’m tired of watching my friends get their forevers and not me.”

“Teach.” I know what he’s going to say, no self-respecting man wants to hear it.

“Don’t say it. I’ll find something. I guess I’ve always wanted to write that all-American novel,” I halfway joke. “Anyway, I’m falling quick. I hope you can back this up, because for some odd reason, I’m trusting you, Stone.”

I don’t put my trust blindly in people, but I see something in him I can’t describe.

“I know you don’t trust easily but you do with me. And I’ve got to say It gives me purpose. I rarely share about Katherine, ever, and I have with both you and Charis. And”—his voice becomes animated—“that fucker lays his hand on our woman again, I’ll end up in jail, and I have a feeling you’ll be there in the adjoining cell.”

I think about the righteous anger that still courses through my veins at the idea of Charis hurt and damaged at the hands of someone who vowed to love her for his entire life.

“Yeah, you’re not wrong. I mean, hell, she needs to trust us, understanding her needs will always come first.”

His eyes widen yet again at what I say. “Fuck, Teach. I need you. I need you both, so much. I didn’t realize there was a love for me out there, like I can see with you and her. I thought it died the second Katherine breathed her last breath.”

I wish I could reach out and comfort him. “You know, you don’t have to be tough. As a Dom, you can let me in.”

“Yeah, and there’s a time and place for that. I promise. Just like you two, I’m broken and can only be made whole again by a special kind of love.” His serious demeanor changes in a beat, when his more arrogant crooked smile emerges on his face. “So, tell me, did she handle you taking charge, like I thought she would?”

“Like a fucking queen. She’s so beautiful and responsive.”

He pauses, long enough that he’s formed his lip in a way to ask a question, but nothing comes out.

“Ask what you want, Doc,” I say and a smile brightens his face.

“You have a dominant trait, and yet you’re so submissive, too. You’ve never had a relationship like this before?”

Oh, this is simple. “My first boyfriend wanted me to take charge. I got off on it. But my next girlfriend didn’t want my dominating ways. I thought I could take it or leave it, but now that I’m with you, I realize there was something missing, and the reason why so many relationships didn’t last.”

“And being dominated?” His eyebrows wiggle.
