Mia and Alexi left early to beat curfew. Both had had enough of lectures for the night. She checked her watch and smiled, plenty of time for a quick side trip. “Vincent, will you take us by the Houston water wall?” she asked through the intercom.

“Certainly.”

Shutting off the intercom, she flipped on music and turned to Alexi with a smile. She reached up and undid her hair clip. Her hair fell around her shoulders, and he touched it reverently. She tossed the bow aside. Reverent was not the expression she wanted to see, so she reached down, crossed her arms, grabbed the hem of her snowflake sweater and lifted.

Alexi’s eyes got wide as the sweater cleared her head, and she flung it to the floor. He relaxed when he realized she wore the halter top underneath.

Mia grinned at his expression and leaned against the side of the car, her back against the wall. Stretching out her legs, she laid them over his lap. Alexi rubbed a hand along the outside of her leg, eyes glinting. That was the expression she wanted. She touched his mouth lightly with her fingertips. His lips pressed against her fingers, then moved toward hers. Her arms went around his neck. Best limo trip yet.

Alexi kissed her neck.

She shivered. Nice. He kissed her mouth. A light kiss. Another.

Alexi wore a button-up oxford shirt over a T-shirt. She slid her hands under both of his shirts. Ah, better. Skin. He was warm. How would he feel against her exposed midriff?

Mia reached to unbutton the oxford shirt.

He watched her undo each one.

When she shoved the shirt off his shoulders, the sleeves caught at his wrists. Undoing the buttons on his left cuff, she kissed his exposed wrist.

Alexi sent her a sweet smile, shrugged out of the left sleeve and held out the right. She pulled it free. She smiled at him as the second wrist was exposed, then bent her head and gave that wrist a lick.

He blinked. Placing his hands on either side of her face, he kissed her intently. Sensation flooded away her teasing. Mia shoved at his T-shirt. Her thinking had gone fuzzy as to the why, but she knew she wanted it off.

Alexi hesitated then reached back and removed it, throwing it to the floor. Oh, wow.

He smiled at her expression. She traced from his shoulders to his waist, beautiful, smooth and warm. More tan than her. She repeated the gesture.

Alexi groaned. He tugged her closer to the middle of the seat, leaned into her, following her down until she was flat against the leather seat.

Nice, but not close enough. She slid her legs off his lap. Awkward. She sat up a little. He let go. Sliding one leg behind him along the back of the seat, she put the other across his lap. Better. She put her hands on his shoulders and pulled him close.

His weight felt wonderful. She pressed her lips against his, and they parted for her. He rubbed his mouth on hers, shifted closer, groaned and pressed into her. His abdomen slid against her bare skin. She sucked in a breath.

Skin to skin. Better than she had imagined. Far better. A pleased, strangled sound emanated from her lips, or maybe a whimper. She clutched him tighter. Her nails curved into his waist and then relaxed. She ran her hands over his back and kissed his mouth, his neck, and then his shoulder. Warm.

Her abdomen slid against his, smooth against hard. Perfect. She must—

Chapter 33

The intercom crackled. “We’re here. I’m going to run into that coffee shop. Want anything?”

Mia looked at Alexi blindly. Groaning, he reached over and hit the switch. “No thanks. We’re going to tour the fountain.”

Alexi pulled away from her and yanked on his T-shirt. He exited the car quickly and stood on the sidewalk.

Mia got out. “Running away?”

“Yes.” He took a deep breath.

The water wall crashed nearby, matching the speed of her pulse.

“I forgot where we were.” He sounded surprised, his voice husky and accented and gorgeous. “I forgot my name.” He ended that on a laugh. “I need to buy a car.” He looked vaguely at the street. “No more drivers.”

Mia brushed her hair with her hand and straightened her top. She met his gaze. Wow. This was so much more intense than she had imagined. Kisses before Alexi always had turned out ‘less than.’ He was more.

Alexi touched her cheek, and then took her hand. “Show me this water wall.”
