“I’m walking you to your door,” he said.
“I carry a big Glock and know how to use it.”
“I know.”
She shrugged and got out of the car. He was around to her side quickly and they walked to the door of her row house together, Red naturally trailing along.
At the door, she looked at him curiously.
He smiled and asked her, “So, should I ask you on a real date? Or, as Megan suggested, should we just get right to it?”
Hardly a question a professional asks a partner. And, of course, she might be horrified, she might report him...
But she didn’t. Her smile hit her eyes before her lips.
“Well, we have already been to a supper club,” she told him. “So... I guess you should come on in!”
