Rana chuckled. “Have you never been to a boxing match?”

She wasn’t listening as she made her way to the locker room to get something to clean his wound. “Hold still. I’ll be right back.”

He was thankfully still standing in the same spot when she returned, and she climbed back up onto the stepper and placed the wet paper towel on his lip. His breath hissed, and that did something inside her chest, but she ignored it.

The bleeding was not stopping however much she pressed on the wound, and just the sight of it was making her stomach knot tighter. A weird silence had fallen between them, and she didn’t like it. “Am I in trouble with your girlfriend now?”

Rana didn’t respond, and she noticed he was avoiding her eyes and seemed unsure about himself. She couldn’t decipher any of the signals, but her senses were going into overdrive. Her nerves turned raw like they sensed something, and just as she was about to ask him if everything was okay, he looked at her.

“You okay,” she asked, removing her hand from his face.

He didn’t respond, but instead, he inched closer as she stood on the stepper. Their eyes locked as his hand tentatively went up to cup her face but stopped just as he was going to touch her. She held his hand as he was pulling it away and placed it over her face. Her eyes rolled shut in response to the intense moment.

“Namrata…” the way he said her name melted her heart, and she opened her eyes to meet his deep, mystic gaze. “I want to kiss you… wanted to for I don’t know how long, but I still wanted to see you even after I kissed you.”

Happy tears gathered in her eyes as she nodded, unable to speak. He placed another hand on her cheek, framing her face as he leaned in to kiss her lips. A moan escaped her as he grazed his lips over hers ever so gently. Her eyes closed as she went up on her toes, wrapping her arm around his neck, deepening the kiss.

Her heart thumped with joy, and she kissed him back with the longing she had not previously acknowledged. Every part of her wanted more—the warmth that circled her, the roughness of his stubble that seared her delicate skin, and the way he held her to his hard body.

“Rana,” she said against his lips as they caught their breath. “I missed you.”

He smiled, kissing the edge of her mouth. “Does that mean you will still see me? Even after I’ve kissed you?”

She pulled back, smiling. “I have no option. Everyone on the campus thinks I’m your girlfriend so I have to see you.”

He pulled her back to him, this time with a hard kiss that made her knees turn to jelly. She chewed on her lip as she looked into his eyes. “Now that we got the kisses out of the way, should we get some real practice in, punch you around a bit more?”

“Sure.” He chuckled. “As long as it includes kissing you more.” With those words, he pulled her into a devouring kiss that made her go numb but be aware of him and his touch.

She woke up the next morning with a newfound energy and excited to go to the boxing arena at four in the morning. That was Rana’s usual practice time, and she wanted to surprise him. After the kissing match at the boxing ring last night, he brought her back to her housing unit and left her with many more kisses.

The very sensation on her lips kept her up all night longing for more. She made a stop at the cafeteria to pick up his drink, which she hadn’t done in weeks, before heading to the boxing arena.

She did not see him in the warm-up area and knew he had to be in the shower. As if by habit, she went straight to his locker and stopped when she saw him. He only had his shorts pulled on and a towel flung over his bare chest.

His eyes dazzled when they clashed with hers. “Hey, you up this early?”

She fought the heat that crept up her cheeks as she walked toward him. As if by muscle memory, she took two quick sips of his drink and held it out. “Your favorite drink.”

He smiled before pulling her to him, his lips descending on hers for a devouring kiss. “You are my favorite drink.” His lips moved along the edge of her mouth, making her insides turn to goo. His kisses were eager as he laid them on every inch of her skin, making her only want more.

She hugged his head to her chest as he kissed along the neckline of her V-neck T-shirt. Her back arched when his lips lingered on the curve of her breast that was barely visible. There was an undying need to be close to each other, but it was not the right place even if they were all alone.

Like he read her mind, he pulled back to look at her. “Come with me.”

She followed him to the other section of the locker room that had changing rooms. He pulled her into one of them and shut the door behind him.

The quiet space was filled with the sounds of their heavy breathing, and he plastered her body to the wall, sandwiching her body with his. He kept his eyes on her until she looked up, her eyes matching the fervor in his.

Along with the excitement of being close to each other, there was anxiety as well. As the tension tightened, the silence between them was met with her thudding heart. She was a mess, and every thread of her craved him in every way. Even as her mind warned her of where they were, she wanted it all.

He lowered his lips to her, ever so lightly. “I want to touch and kiss you.”

Her heart drummed a parade in response, and his words set off something uncontrollable inside her. “This is a bad idea,” she managed to whisper and added, “But I want you to kiss me and—”

The words were sucked into a kiss, and she moaned in response to the urgency. She kissed him back with equal fervor, enjoying the crushing feeling of his hard body against hers. She became aware of his hard need against her soft belly, and that set off something new inside her.
