Coming to a stop at the barn, I hop off Beau. Tessa takes him from me with a smile.
“Good trail ride?” she asks.
I nod. “Yes. It cleared my head and Beau had a good stretch of his legs.”
“Everything is loaded and ready for the flight. The vet finished up the paperwork. We are all set to leave tomorrow.”
For the first time in a long time, I smirk.
Tomorrow I will start on my journey to Italy. I’m only weeks away from seeing my piccola. The thought makes my heart hammer in my chest and my dick twitch in excitement.
“Good. I’ll ride Sully, then I want them both bathed and cleaned.”
She nods. “I’ll start with Beau now. Sully is saddled up and ready for you.”
I smile and stride towards Sully’s stall. I feel different, alive. I know why.
Soon I will see my piccola.
