“No, but I have no doubt that I will. I did try calling her, but she never answered. I wanted to let her know that I am aware that she is responsible for what happened to you and how much trouble she will be in if it comes out. I think scaring her away is the only way we are going to get rid of her completely. If she thinks there is a chance, she could be convicted of drugging horses and causing your accident then she will be on the first flight back to England. Only problem is, we will be based there in six weeks. But if I hold this over her head—show her I have evidence—hopefully she’ll crawl back down whatever hole she came out of.”

“There is also something else she can be in trouble for,” Thalia says softly. It makes my chest tighten and anger course through me simultaneously. This is why I didn’t tell her. I don’t want her to see me as a victim.

“Piccola, I don’t want to get angry with you, but this is the last time I am going to say it. I don’t want to go to the police, I don’t want anyone else knowing. Just forget about it, please.”

She sighs. I can tell she doesn’t want to let it go but I need her to. For me. “Okay. I understand why you don’t want to, but I don’t agree with it. I will support you in whatever you want, though.”

“Thank you.” Roman snorts at one of my staff who appears out of nowhere and I nearly drop my cell.

“Are you riding?” Thalia asks.

“Yes, I’m on Roman actually.”

She huffs. “I miss them so bad. I’m going to see if my father will bring me to see them later.”

“They’ll like that. They miss you too.” She goes quiet and I know she’s thinking about Zeus. “It’s going to be okay, baby,” I whisper.

She chokes on a sob. “It’s going to be hard, being there and seeing Zeus’s stall empty.”

Emotion slams into me. I want to be with her, holding her, comforting her as she grieves for her horse. “Don’t cry, piccola. If you aren’t up to coming to the barn today, then come when you’re ready.”

“I want to. I have to come some time; I want to do it sooner rather than later. I better go; I can hear my father’s voice which means he just got back.”

“Okay, baby. See you later.” With that, we end the call only for my cell to ring almost immediately. I smile thinking it’s my piccola only to grimace when I see the name on the screen. I swipe to answer knowing I need to talk to her. “Melody,” I say with disgust in my voice.

“Theodore darling, I’m returning your calls. There were so many of them, you’re like an ex-boyfriend that won’t quit,” she jokes with a laugh.

“I need to see you. When can you come to the farm?” I bark.

She hums and I hear the smile in her voice. “Finally decided the little whore isn’t worth it and want to make a go of things with me?”

“Don’t fucking call Thalia that. I won’t warn you again.” I growl. “And to answer your question. Not a chance. I would rather be celibate the rest of my life than go near you.”

“Touchy, touchy,” she purrs then sighs. “I’m in New York with some girlfriends. I’ll be back in two days and can come and see you then.”

“I will message you details,” I snap, then quickly end the call with a shiver. The woman makes my skin crawl. I don’t particularly want to be around her or have her in my space, but I will. I can’t wait to see her face when I tell her what I have on her. Can’t wait for her to fuck off back to where she came from. I want her as far away from my piccola and me as possible.

And I will make it happen.

By the time I’m finished with her, she will be begging to go back to London.
