“You have the release party at your place every year? Why? Is it a way to remind you of who’s been there for you or just fanfare?” She managed to put my willy back to bed with talk of business.
“I don’t know really. It’s just nice to hear your record on repeat the whole night while people are getting shit-faced.”
“Hmm,”
“I guess you’re gonna change those plans, huh?” I ask, knowing my party style is not on her agenda.
“No. Not at all. It’s really all about Osiris and their hot new release. I’m just wondering if you would want me there to help celebrate. I know we don’t see things the same way when it comes to the band stuff, but this is your doing, Simon. I don’t want to interrupt that.”
Gentlemen, restart your engines.
I take her hand in mine. “I wouldn’t expect anything less.”
