Not even since he’d been back?

Heat that had nothing to do with arousal washed over me, spreading over my skin and bringing a burn to my eyes. I let go of his cock and pulled his face to mine. Mouth to mouth, skin to skin, we intertwined like we’d been making love for years, touching, groping, tasting.

“Sweet Jesus, you’re beautiful,” he breathed, trailing his mouth down my body, and I was thankful for the dim light of the lamp across the room. If he saw my scars... But that didn’t matter right now because the way this man looked at me, it was like I was the grandest dessert he’d ever beheld. “I need to be inside you.”

“What are you waiting for?”

His lips grazed my sex, and I bucked, grabbing his head.

“I have to do one thing first.”

Spreading my thighs, his mouth devoured me, sending me writhing immediately. His lips, his tongue making love to my clit... his fingers sliding inside to join the party—

“Oh God, Adam, please!” I cried, feeling the build as his fingers curled upward.

With a desperate growl, he crawled up my body, his mouth wet with my juices. “Baby, I’m not gonna last long; I want to get you there.”

“I’m there,” I croaked, grabbing his face.

Like we were made for each other, my legs slid up his back as his cock slid into me, stretching me out to take him.

He growled a curse as my sex squeezed around him and I cried out in pleasure. He wasn’t the only one on the edge. I bucked against him, driving him to move, digging my nails into his back with each thrust.

“Oh fuck—oh fuck, Ad—”

My body convulsed with tremors as he fucked me harder, my orgasm chasing me like a runaway train, and I hung on for dear life as wave after wave of delicious sensation washed over me. His fingers fisted the comforter on either side of my head and his forearm muscles popped as a fierce, primal roar overtook him.

Some version of my name rode that growl as he emptied six years of need into me.

Our breathing was all there was, all that existed in the next moments, as reality settled like a blanket over us. His phone buzzed from his jeans on the floor, but neither of us moved.

“Don’t,” he said finally, catching his breath, his mouth close to my left ear.

I frowned. “Don’t what?” I breathed.

He inhaled deeply and kissed my head. “Overthink it.”

I chuckled. “Why on earth would I do that?”

“Because you wouldn’t be you if you didn’t,” he said, blowing out a breath as he landed on his back.

If I’d had the strength, I would have sat up and leveled him with a dirty look. “So we should pretend this didn’t happen?”

“Hell no, I’m owning this one,” he said on a long exhale.

“Then what is overthinking it?” I asked.

His hand came up, rubbing at his eyes. “This.” He turned onto his side to face me, propped up on his elbow, his eyes traveling my body slowly. I felt his gaze like a laser, and I pulled my side of the sheet over my torso. “Can we just be grown-ups and admit we both wanted it and be happy about it?”

I matched his pose, rolling to face him. “And the rules be damned?”

“Did you really think we stood a chance in hell of sticking to those?” he asked, sliding the sheet back down.

“I was planning on it, till you planted that kiss on me in there,” I said. “I told you it messed with my head.”

I tugged the sheet back up, but he immediately reversed my move. “Quit covering up.”

“I want to,” I retorted.
