“Really? Well, I’d hold off if I were you. Katya’s not gonna settle down too soon. Look, we’ll pick this up again, okay? Drop by tomorrow, and we’ll talk things through. I’ve gotta go, check things are ready for Mimi.”
He nods distractedly before shooting me a grin and his trademark cheeky wink. “Kill ya next time, bro.”
I snort a laugh. “Dream on, kiddo.” I ruffle his overly neat mop of hair as I leave. He hates me doing that, so I always make a big point of it.
“Uh, Neal?”
I stop and turn.
“She may not want your cash.” Neal taps his index finger on his temple. “Keep that in the forefront of your mind before you up the offer. There are other ways to win her round without big dollar signs attached. Understand her motives before you make your move.”
“Gotcha. Loud and clear. Thanks, Ross.” I jog off, out of the gym to my waiting car.
I do get his point, and I’m taking that on board. But no one will outright refuse a big sum of cash. Not even Dani. All I gotta do is sweet-talk her and give her something she wants to go with.
