The latest bloodwork and scans indicated that it was a little girl, and the Sethir-Nin were ecstatic. She focused on eating her meal, which was mostly healthy, and Vallu asked her, “Does shifting like that hurt the baby?”

She chuckled. “No, it likes it. Every time I do shift, she gets a little bit bigger.”

Ylara reached over and patted the belly. “You could nearly go toe-to-toe with Vallu right now. Khytten needs to stop sending you booster packs.”

“I like the booster packs. They have gotten me through some pretty nasty complications.”

Vallu chuckled. “I don’t mind if she beats me to delivery, but she is going to need a baby shower, stat.”

Brit waved that off. “I already have sewn enough baby clothing for the first two years and have more than enough quilts to last me until she’s an adult.”

When they finished eating, Litha smiled. “Well, on the matter of the shower, I think it is time we headed to the clubhouse.”

Brit blinked. “What?”

“Come on. It’s your baby shower.”

The others laughed, and they urged her toward the polo grounds, where the clubhouse had been decked out in bright pink, purple, and crimson. Denier’s mother was there with Lady Daycross, the elder, and Khytten, Lyric, and Baola were there along with other omegas who belonged to the Sethir-Nin.

After hours of fun, Brit nodded off and only woke up when Denier came to carry her through the shadows and back home. She took a well-deserved nap and then had to deal with the remains of the party as the presents were delivered by Litha.

Her friend helped her sort things, and Brit asked her about her relationship. Litha smiled and dodged all the questions, but they had to be asked. Brit grinned. What kind of friend would she be if she didn’t show interest?

When the baby protested the late hour, Brit headed to bed. Litha went to the guestroom, and Denier joined Brit in the wide four-poster that let him stretch out completely. The nest was left for napping or when he was at work.

Her life had taken on a pattern in the last few months, and she could now see her future as much as her family could. She liked it. All she had to do was let her mate chase her up one tree, and the rest was history.
