Joni rolled her eyes and changed the subject. “Are you coming home tonight?”

There were more nights than he cared to count where he spent time away from their home. It was why Jaycie had developed the highly unprofessional habit of popping in to the Ghost Unit base to visit over the last five years.

Speaking of. “Can you also talk to our daughter about her surprise visits here? I didn’t get to speak with her before she returned to the Jutak Academy. The team caught her last time. She can’t keep using her brother for personal reasons to bypass our security.”

Joni snorted and waved her hand in the air. “You know how those two are. Viktor’s never going to deny his sister. They’re as thick as thieves and won’t listen to me.”

That’s what Kyele was afraid she’d say. He’d try and talk to Jaycie again later. Joni was right on one point—talking to his son would get him nowhere. Jaycie had her brother wrapped around her fingers.

Neither of them thought anything of Viktor’s ability to travel between dimensions, a skill he’d inherited from Azar. Not even Kyele had the ability. It was dangerous and one of the many reasons he worried for Viktor.

“So,” Joni prodded. “Tonight?”

She clearly wanted him home and he never refused his Chosen if possible. In this instance, he could say with some relief. “Yes,tesa. I’ll be home but late, so don’t wait up.”

She bit her bottom lip, licked the plump flesh and winked. “Wake me when you get in, Ky.”
