I heard a low whisper of voices behind me again. I turned slowly, nerves dancing in my belly as I looked at the group of teens at the back.

All their eyes were pinned to mine, while my eyes automatically pinned to her.

She must be the Queen B.

All long legged, tanned and long, chocolate brown hair that was tied into a neat ponytail and finished off with a black ribbon that held it back.

Her green eyes burned into mine, her lips parted, one side pulled up into a smirk.

She did not look friendly and kind like Regina.

No, she looked like she could make hell freeze over. She had her entourage and for some reason I felt like she just pinned a target to my back.

It took all my might to pull my eyes from her as I scanned over the rest of the group. Two boys sat either side of her, one with mousy blonde hair, with random lighter blonde highlights. It was styled to the side, but messy. His brown eyes were kind but seemed full of sympathy as he cast his gaze over me. The other guy seemed a lot more stone-faced. Defined jaw, pronounced cheek bones and opal eyes that matched the colour of the sea outside. The colour seemed to pop more against his black hair and caramel coloured skin. There was no hint of a smile on his face, the pretty girl leant up and whispered something in his ear, his hand moving to her bare thigh and giving it a squeeze. Whatever she said seemed to pull him from his stare as he turned to face her and gave her a kind smile.

I took that as my cue to snap my head back around to face forward and focus on the teacher. I could feel the trio’s eyes burning into the back of my head, but I refused to give in to the temptation of looking back at them.

I inhaled deeply and lost myself in my work.

Was it the end of the day yet?
