How cool was that? It was one of those hidden clubs that no one would know about if they were to come into the house.

Clever little Sydney.

Grabbing Regina’s hand, I tugged her through the fridge door and walked slowly down the long, narrow hallway. It felt like it would never end when we came to a set of wooden steps leading down to a basement. I could feel the beat coursing through me, the vibrations making my skin tingle and my heartbeat fast.

I was pumped, I felt full of adrenaline as we headed down into the underneath space. I stilled on the bottom step, just taking a minute to take in the scene in front of me in.

The strobe lights were bouncing off the walls, an older female DJ was jumping up and down behind her decks to STAY – The Kid LAORI & Justin Bieber. The beat pumped through me, I felt alive suddenly as every nerve ending in my body buzzed.

People were dancing, singing, drinking and just generally having a good time. Regina shoved me into the sea of drunk teens as we made our way through the maze to the bar. One thing was for certain, I needed a drink.

I asked for two bottles of beer and threw him the cash. He shook his head at me and pushed the note back towards me. I furrowed my brow as I slipped the cash in the back pocket of my shorts.

“Free bar,” he smiled, bearing his pearly whites.

“Of course, it is,” I muttered under my breath, shrugging my shoulders up and taking a swig of my bottle. I pushed one into Regina’s hands, her eyes widening as she looked between me and the bottle.

“Please tell me you’ve had a drink before?” I asked a little gobsmacked, dropping my own bottle from my lips.

She shook her head from side to side as a blush crept on her face.

“Damn.” I raised my brows before turning into the crowd as I felt Regina close behind me. Before I could stop them, my eyes scanned the room. I knew who I was looking for, I wanted the burn deep inside of me to ignite once our eyes connected. I couldn’t see her, and for some unknown reason I was disappointed. I tried to ignore the surge of sadness that plunged deep into the pit of my stomach as I knocked back my beer. Stopping suddenly, Regina’s body hit into my back.

“What’s wrong?” her voice was loud over the booming music.

“I need another drink,” I turned as I shouted back at her, “don’t move.”

I didn’t want to lose her in the crowd, I didn’t want her to be alone when the mean girls decide they want to play with their new toy. Rushing over to the bar, I ordered another bottle before finding Regina where I told her to stay.

“You good?” I asked her.

She nodded quickly and resumed her position behind me. I didn’t like her falling behind, I wanted her next to me, I wanted her walking beside me. Reaching behind myself, I grabbed her arm and tugged her forward.

“You walk beside me,” my brows furrowed, “not behind me. I’m not some stuck-up rich girl who will make you walk behind.” I said flashing her a quick smile. A small smile graced her lips as we moved to an empty booth. Sliding in, we stayed silent as we people watched.

“Is it what you expected it to be?” I asked Regina as I sipped my beer.

She shook her head from side to side. “Not at all.”

“Better or…?”

“So much better,” she beamed as she wiggled in her seat to the music that filled the room. We stayed there; I did ask Regina if she wanted to dance but she said she was happy to people watch.

I watched as she stiffened suddenly, her eyes pinned into the crowd. My eyes followed her trail as I saw who she was staring at. The cute blonde guy who hangs around with bitch face.

“Ohhh, I see how it is,” I smirked, leaning into her and nudging her gently.

“Stop it,” she snapped, pushing me off.

“It’s fine, you have a cruuuush,” I teased her as I burst into laughter.

“I do not,”

“Regina, babe… You do. You’re all flushed and shit. Why don’t you go and talk to him?”

Her head snapped round so quick I was sure she had given herself whiplash. “What and get shot down from the firing line?! No!” she shook her head from side to side quickly now, grabbing her beer and taking two large mouthfuls, then wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.

“I would much rather just admire from afar, thank you.” She nodded, her eyes pinned to the blonde god that had flocks of girls surrounding him.
