I think Two Can Play At This Game

PARKER

I’m wearing a white underwire slip dress with my long blonde hair falling in soft waves past my shoulders.

Hudson will like this, I think as I check my outfit in the mirror that stands against the wall.

Tonight I want to be a little wild, so I choose to wear some makeup. I add a blush-colored lipstick that makes my lips look extra soft and pink, along with some highlighter to my nose bridge and tip.

My grey eyes already stand out, so I use my eyeliner pen and do a foxy eyeliner look to enhance them, before adding pale pink glitter gel to my cheekbones.

“You’re looking gorgeous,” Lex says and I glance at her in the mirror’s reflection as she pokes her head around my bedroom door.

“Thank you,” I say standing up straight as I run my fingers through my hair. “Are you staying in? I thought you were going out.”

“I didn’t feel like going out. I think I’ve over-partied myself,” she says, pressing her head against the doorframe.

I turn around to face Lex and I can see the bags underneath her eyes and the hopelessness in her baby blues. I know she’s worried about our current situation with the rent.

I’ve already paid half of it, but we’re still going to be short and nothing is going to just get better overnight. The thought of not being roommates anymore scares me.

Even though that was the plan for after graduation, it just sucks that it’s going to be earlier than we thought.

“I can stay in with you and we can watch a movie or something,” I suggest.

Lex gives me her best “Are you serious?” look before rolling her eyes. “And ruin your chance of getting some tonight?

I wish I could tell Lex that I wasn’t completely happy and that I am basically forcing things to be okay, but I won’t, because I’d rather focus on someone else’s problems right now.

Besides, even if I had to explain my relationship with Hudson, I would not know where to begin and where to end, all while trying to prevent Lex from committing First Degree Murder.

“Are you sure?”

Lex stares at me with a deadpan look. “Yes, mom. Now go please so I can masturbate to Sam Claflin.”

“Oh my God!” I shriek. “I did not ask for those kinds of details!”

Lex grins proudly. “Well, it will get you to stop asking me if I’m sure.”

My phone buzzes and I check to see Hudson’s caller ID pop up on my screen. My hopefulness for things to get better between us fills me with a new kind of determination. I’ll try to be careful with every single decision I make from now on.

“I’ll see you later,” I tell Lex, kissing her cheek as I grab my bag.

“Love ya. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.” She playfully winks at me and I shake my head as I leave the apartment.

When I step out of the building, Hudson is there, casually leaning against his Mustang.

The car’s shiny black surface looks dark and daring like its owner. And God damn, my mouth falls open as my gaze whispers along the length of Hudson’s tall frame.

He’s wearing a crisp white oxford shirt, with quite a few buttons open and exposing the smooth skin across his wide chest. A sliver of his medallion can be seen as it hangs lightly around his chest and his dark jeans perfectly suit his long legs.

Hudson walks up to me. The evening light enhances his velvet green eyes as he gives me a fierce once over that makes my heart skip a beat twice. Immediately my pussy clenches with desire.

His inky black hair is damp and tousled and when he leans in, I can get a hint of a heavenly scented shower gel.

I hadn’t even noticed before, but since he’s standing so close, I can see faint stubble across his sculpted jawline and it makes him look a million more times sexier and dangerous.
