"You can’t," I say. "Unless you have some sort of magic pill that’s going to make me forget all of this. You can still prescribe people medicine, right?"

He laughs then. "I’m not prescribing anything," he says. "That would be unethical."

"And that’s what you care about, right?" I ask. I hear the words coming out of my mouth before I can think about what I’m saying. "You’re so concerned with being ethical that you would never do anything like that."

He laughs softly that time. "No," he says. "It’s more like, I can think of other ways to make you think about something else. More fun ways."

I swallow as I meet his eyes. Fuck, he’s so gorgeous, it’s annoying. And he’s ridiculously good in bed. After they’re done exorcising the kid I’ll probably never see him again, so what’s the harm in one more night together? He might’ve used me, but that doesn’t mean I can’t use him, too.

And after the last few days, I think I deserve to have fun too.

I smile at him, blood rushing to my cheeks. "I told you we weren’t sleeping together," I say.

"Yes, but I was hoping you’d changed your mind. Did you?"

"Maybe after dessert," I say. "We’re still having dessert, right?"

"Yes," he replies, his voice dropping as he looks at me. "We’re still having dessert."
