Jenna stared at the ring and giggled. “After carrying me over one shoulder out of the crime writer’s convention ball last winter, I’m not surprised. Is July too soon? Just our close friends… and I’d love to go somewhere hot for our honeymoon.”
“I’d prefer tomorrow, but whatever we do, we should have a team on standby in case a serial killer comes to town. We’re going on vacation, even if it’s only a few days. I’ll find a place with no interruptions.” Kane’s lips curled into a smile as he looked over her shoulder. “Hmm, everyone in the office is watching us through the door. I figure it’s time I made my intentions clear.” He removed his hat and bent to kiss her.
