When I nod, he holds my hands in his warm grasp. “I am very happy that Zach has found that love with you, Hope.”

My throat constricts when we get up and Zander takes me in a bear hug. I pull back when I hear timid footsteps and watch Rose hesitantly approaching us.

She joins us and without any hesitation throws her arms around me. “Welcome to the family. I am so happy that you are with us today.”

Her words bring tears of joy in my eyes.

I am finally accepted.

“Why haveyou hijacked my wife? Do you have nothing better to do than to gossip among the girls?” Zach saunters to us still sitting in the garden. He lightly nudges Zander’s foot before flopping on the chair beside him while Rose and I sit on the white iron love seat.

“Give me all the shit you want but I’m happy for you, baby brother.” Zander playfully pulls Zach’s cheeks, eliciting a giggle out of Rose and me.

“You are older by just two years.” Zach bats his brother’s hand away, and an expression of mock annoyance etches on his face.

“And don’t you forget that.” Zander gets up and offers his hand to Rose. “Come on, sweetheart, let’s see how our new guest is surviving. It seems we have a wedding to plan.”

Once they are out of earshot, I ask Zach, “What do you think is Zane and Vienna’s story? I hope there isn’t a contract involved.”

He shrugs. “If their married life turns out to be like ours, I don’t mind, Hopper.”
