I open my eyes and nod once. “Thanks,” I say in a throaty voice.
Finally, Zach removes his hand, his grin in place as he turns his head slightly to the side. “Last thing, I got some things for you.” He points to the duffel bag. “You can use this room to freshen up. I already talked to the nursing staff, they’ll move Gigi when she wakes up again. I’ll take Ray home and see you in the evening.”
My eyes follow him as he walks to the door. Holding the doorframe, he half turns. “Thanks for letting me in, Hope. I won’t break your trust. I promise.”
