“I’m here.”I ran toward the sound of her voice. Bibi had claimed she never wanted to be a wolf again, but it didn’t change the fact that she could kick some serious canine ass when called to do so.

How did she know I needed her? I’d figure that out later. Right now, I could just be thankful that my fairy dragmother had come to my rescue.

“Keep talking to me so I can find you,”she said.

But if she kept talking, the other wolves would be able to find her. “Stick to the road,” I instructed. “I’m not alone.”

I didn’t want to say too much yet. These wolves could understand everything we said, and whatever knowledge I had, would be available at their arsenal too.

My muscles burned, but I refused to give up until I saw two wolves standing in the middle of the road.

One of them I’d known my whole life. Hugo.

“The security crew turned on you,”I said.

“I had a feeling.”The other wolf was Bibi. All the glitter and sparkle was gone, and all that was left was one badass wolf. “It’s fine. We gave them a chance to do things their way. Now we’ll do things our way.”

Another creature lumbered behind them—the hugest bear I’d ever seen. Damn.

Wolves skidded to a halt behind me. None of them had the balls to fight Hugo, Bibi, and Bjorn.

My old pack had as good as abandoned me. My new pack was fierce as fuck, and I’d never been prouder to have animals like this fight for me.

But every single wolf would notice that Logan hadn’t come to my rescue.
