I'd laugh if it weren't for the serious look on her face.

Her eyes flick down to my gun that's still sitting in the grass at her feet.

Shooting her foot out, she kicks it over to me and I bend down to pick it up.

I'm still looking at it when I hear the shuffle of her feet as she begins to walk away.

She's almost out of sight when my lips part and I call her back without realising what I'm actually doing.

"W-wait."

She pauses, but she doesn't look back.

"What's your name?" I ask, needing to know just something about her after everything she's given me tonight.

She freezes for a few seconds, long enough that I don't think she's going to respond.

But then she turns.

Her eyes hold mine, that familiar chemistry crackling between us as if I've not just had her twice in the space of thirty minutes.

Her lips open and then close again as if she's battling with herself as to whether she should tell me or not.

I'm about to tell her to forget it, to just leave it as a mystery that we can both fondly remember, when she finally speaks.

"It's Stella." My heart begins to race.

No. There's no fucking way.

"Stella Doukas."

All the air in my lungs rushes out, my chest aching with my need to breathe, but I can't.

My fists curl at my sides as anger like I've only ever experienced a couple of times in my life surges through me.

I fight like hell to keep my expression neutral so she’ll turn and leave once more, because if she reads anything on my face right now then there's a very good chance she won't leave this graveyard alive.

"And you?"

I shake my head, unable to even recall my own name right now as I stare into her traitorous eyes.

"Your worst fucking nightmare, Hellion."
