In the past, my Porsche has stood out like a sore thumb, but here, she blends right in. Hell, compared to some, she actually looks cheap, which really is saying something.

Voices filter down to me from the other end of the lot, and I regret looking up the second my eyes lock with a certain dark pair.

Thankfully, Seb and his loyal followers have kept their distance today, although I must admit I’ve been waiting for them to make their move.

I didn’t get the impression that yesterday was all Seb wanted from me. And I’m sure he’s not going to take the ball ache I gave him lying down. I might have got him on his knees, but I’m sure it’s not somewhere he makes a habit of being.

Images flicker through my mind of another time I had him on his knees, but I lock them down almost as quickly as they erupted.

His eyes hold mine for a beat before he takes a step forward from the Aston Martin they’re standing around. His face is set, anger rippling from him as his eyes track down my body.

The urge to pull my hoodie tighter around me to cover up is strong, but there’s no way I’ll ever cower to this jerk, so I stand there and let him get his fill.

“Careful, Sebastian, anyone would think you wanted another round,” I announce loudly. Something tells me he’s the only one who’d care about anyone learning what happened that night. That he lowered himself to touch the new girl, or whatever it is he thinks of me that suddenly made him hate me.

His friends scoff and laugh behind him as his fists curl.

“You need to watch your back, Doukas,” he seethes.

“Oh, so we’re on last name terms now,” I quip. “You’d better tell me yours then.”

“I’m giving you nothing,” he snarls, lifting his hand and pushing his wet hair from his brow.

Glancing back at the other four, I find them in a similar state. From the gossip I’ve heard around this place in the past two days, I can only assume they’re on the soccer team—or football, as it is here. They seem to be the ones who think they own the school, and these five ooze power. Or at least think they do.

“Right, well, as fun as this little catch-up has been. I’ve got better things to do with my time.” I drop my eyes down his body, my gaze locking on his crotch. “And I’m sure you need to go and ice your balls.”

His jaw tics, his eyes narrow in warning as he steps closer.

He doesn’t stop until there’s only a hair between us. His heat burns into my body, but I don’t so much as flinch as I’m forced to look up at him.

I don’t give a shit that I’m smaller. I’ve already proven that I can take him down with minimal effort.

“You really think you’re something, don’t you?”

I shrug. “I think I’m better than you.”

He moves faster than I expect, his hand wrapping around my throat a beat before my back collides with a car.

“And that would just be another mistake you’ve made.”

I quirk a brow in an attempt to look bored by his big scary bad boy act. But I also hope that it’s enough to stop him reading into how his possessive hold affects me.

The tighter his fingers get around my throat, the more my blood begins to boil. Only now, it’s not with anger.

With him right in my face, his hot breath tickling over my skin and his freshly-showered scent in my nose, I can almost convince myself that we’re right back in that graveyard, just two lost people searching for something in the darkness.

“Seb, put her fucking down,” one of his boys barks, and everything comes crashing down around me as reality hits once more.

Leaning in closer, his lips brush my ear and I have to fight to suppress the shudder of desire that wants to rip through my body.

“I’d keep looking over your shoulder if I were you.”

He moves back with his brows pulled together when all I do is laugh.

“You’re all mouth, Sebastian.” I say his name in my best posh English accent in the hope of it pissing him off.

“Am I?” he seethes, his voice so low that no one else has a chance at hearing him. “Keep trying me and you might be lucky enough to learn how wrong you are.”
