CHAPTERFIFTEEN

Sebastian

My heart races as Stella flies through the city, taking yet another corner at breakneck speed.

“Oh my God,” I laugh as my body leans into Theo’s insanely comfortable seats. “I can’t believe he let you do this.”

My head spins from the vodka. Mix that with Alex’s weed and I’ve almost been able to forget why we all hung out in the graveyard tonight. Almost.

“Why? He’d do anything for you. And he knows I’m about to give you the ride of your life.”

Desire shoots straight to my dick at her words. The image of fucking her over the hood of this sexy-arse car vividly plays out in my mind. “Is that right?”

“Turn both our cells off,” she demands, digging hers out of her pocket and passing it over after stopping at a red light.

“Wh—oh.” A knowing smirk pulls at my lips. “He is literally going to kill you.”

She shoots me a look before the lights change and she floors the accelerator, throwing us both back in our seats.

“This thing is a fucking beast,” she squeals excitedly.

“Yesss!” I cry, throwing my arms up. “Take this right.”

Stella follows my directions out of the city without questioning me, and a little over thirty minutes later, she’s pulling into the car park I had in mind.

It’s deserted, exactly as I hoped. I point to a space that allows us to look out over the city beyond and she pulls the car to a stop, killing the engine and plummeting us into silence.

The lights before us illuminate the dark night sky as we both just take a breath.

Dragging my eyes from the view, I focus on my girl instead.

My heart aches just looking at her.

We grow up listening to stories about love and finding the one. Never in a million fucking years did I think it would feel like this.

That it would complete me and fucking terrify me all at the same time.

Everything about her just brings me to my fucking knees.

She should be pissed at me for walking away from the hospital like I did earlier, but no… instead, she brought my boys to me when I needed them all the most.

And fuck did I need it.

“It’s beautiful out here,” she whispers, cutting through the silence.

“Yeah,” I breathe, keeping my eyes locked on her profile.

Her hair is piled on top of her head. She probably thinks it looks a mess, but it’s far from that. Her face is almost clear of makeup, and she’s wearing a hoodie and leggings.

She’s fucking breathtaking.

Realising that I’m not looking at the city stretched out before us, she turns her head toward me and my breath catches when our eyes connect.

Concern fills hers as her brow wrinkles.

There are a million things I should probably say to her, thank her for, but the words get stuck behind the giant lump in my throat, and the only way I can think about conveying everything I need her to know is with actions.

Reaching out, I wrap my hand around the back of her neck and pull her toward me.
