My chest aches, remembering all the things she said to me about how much she misses her, even though she knows she shouldn't.

“Something else,” I demand.

She chews on her bottom lip for a few seconds, thinking.

“I think… I think that…” Her eyes come back to mine as if she needs my strength to say what she’s thinking. “I think that maybe I don’t hate you after all.”

An unexpected laugh rips up my throat.

Wrapping my hand around the back of her neck, I pull her into my body.

“I’m pretty sure our friends would claim to already know that secret, Hellcat.”

“Then I’d deny it profusely because this… us… right now... it’s none of their business.”

“Fuck yeah,” I grunt before claiming her lips and setting about giving her another secret to keep from her friends as I make her scream my name against the marble wall.
