Thoughts of Toby sitting there waiting for me fill my belly with butterflies and give me the push I need.

Something fluttering on the door catches my eye the second I pull it open, and I can’t help but bark out a laugh.

Closed for maintenance.

I’ve still got a smirk on my face as I emerge into the restaurant, but unlike I was expecting, no one so much as glances my way.

So maybe there are some benefits being with a guy most of the city should be scared of.

“The ma… your… whatever owns this place then, I take it?”

His own amusement covers his face. “What gave it away?”

“A number of things,” I admit. “Who did the sign on the door?”

“Could have been anyone, but my money is on Leo behind the bar.”

Toby nods to the other side of the room and I follow, finding a young guy, probably a similar age to us. He notices our attention and salutes Toby.

“Mortifying,” I mutter under my breath.

“Says the woman who let me tie her up in a sex club the night I met her while strangers may or may not have watched.”

I shake my head, a smile pulling at my lips. “You’re still not going to tell me about that, are you?”

“Maybe one day.” He smirks, and my cheeks continue to burn bright red.

“You’re sexy when you blush."

“Just when I blush?” I ask cheekily.

“No, you’re always sexy, but even more so when you’re thinking about all the things I’ve done to you.”

I lose myself in his mysterious blue eyes, and I have to smother a shriek of fright when our server suddenly appears at my side with our food.

I don’t look up at her. I can’t, because there’s no way she doesn’t know what we did in the bathroom.

“Thank you,” I mumble under my breath when she slides a plate of mouth-watering pasta in front of me.

The scent of garlic, tomatoes, and cheese makes my belly growl loudly.

“It’s the best Italian in the city,” Toby tells me once we’re alone again. “But even still, it’s not my favourite thing to eat.” I gawp when he lifts his hand and sucks the two fingers that were inside me not so long ago into his mouth, his eyes shuttering as he tastes me.

“Jesus Christ,” I gasp, squirming in my seat. “You’re really owning this bad boy shit today, huh?”

“Mostly, I was hoping to own you.”

The smile he gifts me with is pure filth and ignites an inferno inside me. And it only gets worse when I take a bite of the pasta and I can’t contain the groan of delight as the flavours erupt in my mouth.

“Good, right?” he asks, his gaze focused on my lips.

“Incredible.”

Spearing a piece of pasta with his fork, I watch, enthralled, as he lifts it to his lips and chews.

How the hell does he make eating so hot?

“It’s a skill, for sure,” he responds, shocking the shit out of me.
