The torrential downpour continues. Rivers run down both our faces as it lashes against our bodies.

“You’re something else,” I mutter.

“Anything to stop me from drowning.” She sucks in a breath the second she finishes talking, as if she regrets letting in any kind of reality.

“Not tonight, Demon,” I whisper, capturing her mouth and pushing my tongue between her lips.

She can remember all that tomorrow. Tonight is about forgetting, about pushing reality aside and just enjoying whatever it is we’ve found here.

I lift her off her feet, wrapping her legs around my waist as our kiss continues.

“Can’t get enough of you, baby,” I groan into her kiss.

“Toby,” she moans, rocking her hips to find some friction.

“Jesus, Demon,” I groan against her throat. “You’d let me fuck you right here, wouldn’t you?”

“You make me crazy,” she moans when I copy her move, grinding my hard length against her cunt.

“So you were totally sane before me, huh?” I mutter, kissing and nipping down her neck.

“Tota— oh shit.”

Her head falls back against the rough wall behind her as I hit the perfect spot. Her fingers claw at my shoulders as I continue.

“Fuck, you’re mesmerising,” I breathe, completely lost to watching her fall apart in front of me.

“Toby,” she cries, her voice loud enough to drag attention our way—not that I’m sure anyone has missed us. “Oh shit, shit.”

She’s right on the edge when a loud siren cuts through the rain surrounding us.

Our eyes lock a second before we both bark out a laugh.

Putting her back on her feet, I grab her hand and pull her along with me, both laughing as we escape the scene of the almost-crime.

“You’re going to get me in trouble, Tobias,” she forces out through her panting breaths as she slows down in front of a building.

The siren has long faded away, but my high and the adrenaline pumping through my veins hasn’t.

Jogging up the stairs to the building, my eyes are locked on Jodie’s arse as she digs around her bag for the keys.

“Shit,” she barks when they fall from her frozen fingers and straight into a puddle.

Scooping them up, I wrap my arms around her from behind and push one of the keys into the lock. Luck must be on my side, because I choose the right one.

A violent shiver rips through Jodie’s body as my warmth hits her.

“Fuck, you’re freezing.”

“I’m good, can barely feel it,” she argues, but the second we get inside and swing the door closed behind us, it becomes quickly apparent that she’s lying.

Her teeth begin chattering, her body trembling before we reach the stairs.

“Come here, Demon,” I say, sweeping her off her feet, holding her against my chest.

“Her flat is on the fourth floor. You can’t—”

“Watch me, baby. Then I’m going to get you nice and warm.”'
