“At any point, if you change your mind, just tell me to stop.” He pressed his head against mine. “I don’t want you to wake up with any regrets this time.”

“I won’t.” I slid my hand behind his head. “Not this time. Now kiss me again.”

He didn’t delay, lowering himself to me and covering my body with his.

A sound at the front of the trolley caused us to freeze, and we both swiveled our heads to the front. Footsteps coming up the steps caused us to leap up, and I grabbed my shirt and pulled it closed.

“Hello?” A voice called, and the dark silhouette of a man appeared.

Suddenly the haze of desire that had consumed me lifted, and I realized I was about to get down and dirty in the back of a trolley ... in a public place. About as anti-Ivy as I could ever imagine. I quickly closed my shirt buttons, heat rushing to my cheeks as I straightened my shoulders and sat up like someone had shoved a rod up my back.

“Uh, hey, Billy,” Ethan called back, yanking his shirt back on. “It’s just me. Ethan.”

“Oh, hey, man. You do too many shots and come in for a nap?” Billy stepped farther down the aisle, then froze when he saw me.

“Hi.” I waved shyly at the man in the dark I could barely make out.

“Oh, shit. Uh, hey. Hi. Yeah. I, uh, wow. Super sorry, guys. Didn’t know anyone was on here.”

Pure horror soaked into me as I covered my face. But instead of running for my life and considering this a sign I shouldn’t be breaking my no-flings rule, I just started to giggle.

Ethan joined me with a chuckle and sucked the air through his teeth. “Dude. Super sorry about this.”

“No problem, man. Not the first time this has happened. Won’t be the last. I guess I’ll just, uh ... I’ll go for a walk or something.”

Ethan glanced at me, but I gave him a slight shake of my head and whispered, “Moments ruined. I don’t think I can do this on a trolley now.” I bit my lip. “But, uh, maybe we could go back to the hotel? Somewhere a little more ... private?”

Ethan’s eyes ignited with desire. “Deal.” He turned back to Billy. “Um. Billy? How about instead of going for a walk, I’ll give you fifty bucks to run Ivy and me back to our hotel right now. Ivy and I really want some pizza.”

I almost choked on my laugh.

“You want me to leave the bachelor party?”

Ethan glanced through the window at the bar. “Trust me. They’ll understand. Our hotel is only a few miles away. Just run us there, and you’ll be back in ten minutes. They won’t be ready to leave for at least an hour.”

After a long pause, Billy and Ethan shared a look then Billy started to laugh. “You got it, man.”

“You’re the best, Billy.”

Billy fired up the engine and pulled out onto the street. Ethan slid up next to me in the back seat of the trolley and then draped his arm around me.

I leaned my head against his shoulder. “So, that happened.”

“Getting busted going at it on the back of a trolley. Add that to your list.”

I laughed harder.

He leaned down and brushed his lips against mine, and I sunk into his kiss, forgetting everything else in the world but him. There was only him. The trolley bumped along the street as I slid my hand behind his face and tickled his tongue with mine, my body shivering with excitement for what I knew awaited me back at the hotel.

“Here you are,” Billy said when the trolley pulled to a stop.

Ethan kissed me again and smiled. “Ready for your pizza?” he whispered as he stood up.

Biting my lip, I nodded and grabbed his outstretched hand. He kissed my cheek, pulled me to standing, and led me down the aisle. As we got to the front of the trolley, I was finally able to see Billy clearly in the light of the hotel lobby lights.

“Thanks for the ride, Billy,” I said, now feeling embarrassed he’d caught us in such a compromising position.

“You two enjoy your pizza,” Billy said with a coy smile.
