What is more important, brain or strength? And should you be faced with the ultimate decision, would you choose life… or death? We’re about to find out!

Introducing first, a monster of a fighter with a track record of 18 kills. He stands tall at 6′5″ and weighs 250lbs. Presenting SKUUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLL!”

The man strolled past me with his enormous arms raised in the air.

He roared at the crowd, egging them on, and they answered by chanting his name.

I ignored everyone and did what my mentor trained me to do before a battle.

Despite what he loudly proclaimed, Jacob Hayes wasn’t the one who taught me everything I knew. Ghost did, and he had been very good at his job.

I locked away the emotions creeping up on me at the thought of my mentor and concentrated on my opponent.

This was not the time to get emotional.

The computer that was my brain automatically analyzed my opponent’s gait and took in certain details, like the fact that he favored his right side.

When another fighter got into his face this morning, the man had instinctively protected his left flank, making me think he might have a bruised rib.

Aside from this, he had difficulty raising his arms in the air. This was a symptom often seen in someone with a rotator cuff injury that hadn’t fully healed.

Factor in the usual vulnerable areas of the nose, eyes, groin, face, and liver, I had seven areas to play with, which wasn’t a lot.

I couldn’t go head-to-head with this mammoth. The man was easily one hundred and fifty pounds heavier than me, and most of it was muscles.

My only chance was to be quick and fight dirty. If he got his hands on me, he would drop me like a stone with one punch.

The good news was I’ve fought men like him before. They relied heavily on brute strength and were slow to react.

I wished I had my batons with me instead of going in bareknuckle. It would be so much easier to dispose of this brute.

A picture of my face appeared on the screen before the announcer loudly introduced me to the crowd.

“His opponent is our very own hacker extraordinaire. She hacked the Pentagon security mainframe at fourteen and hijacked NORAD’s defense system at fifteen. She stands five-foot-tall and 130lbs. Please give a warm welcome to OOOOOOOOOOOORION.”

I exhaled as I bent down to double knot my combat boots. Once that was done, I flexed my neck to loosen up the muscle before taking a right lead stance.

“I’m going to hurt you like you’ve never been hurt before, little bird,” Skull laughed.

“Less talking, more fighting. If I have to meet my maker today, I’d like to do it without the ramblings of an idiot ringing in my ears.” The man snarled at my comeback.

The gong rang, and he came at me with a right hook aimed at my face. I evaded his first punch and the second.

Be aware of your opponent. Even a small-sized man can kill with one strike aimed at the right place.

My mentor’s voice rang in my head as Skull tried to hit me a third time, giving me the opening I needed. I chopped him behind his thick neck before kneeing him in the face and breaking his nose.

I immediately backed away as he got to his feet and tried to punch me again.

Adrenaline was pumping in my veins as I blocked his kick by hitting him hard in the knee with the sole of my combat boot. The shock of the contact reverberated throughout my body, and I quickly shook it off.

Regrettably, I wasn’t the only one feeling the effects of the adrenaline. The man tried to rip my head off, even though everyone heard his kneecap crack.

Another kick, another block. When he lunged at me, I got out of the way, and he fell onto the sand. He quickly got up, and with a loud bellow, wildly swung around.

I slid under his arm and launched an onslaught of rapid-fire punches onto rib five, six, and seven of his left true ribs. When I heard them break, Skull slapped me away from him, and pain exploded in my head as I parachuted onto the wall and dislocated my shoulder.

Blood gushed from my mouth as I fought a losing battle to remain conscious. I fell helplessly onto the ground, and the world blackened for a few precious seconds.
