“Hi.” She leaned down to kiss him, enjoying the scruff of his weekend beard against her skin. “Thanks for the robe.”

“It’s just a loan,” he warned her, and gave her hair a tug.

“Damn,” she grumbled, pleased when he chuckled.

“Sit with me for a minute.” He tugged her down into his lap. “How do you feel?”

“I feel great.” She tipped her head back to beam at him. “Relaxed. Limber. I need to see Sadie more often.”

“Not a terrible idea. Are you tired?” He stroked a hand over her hair, her face. “Any lingering symptoms from the tonsillitis?”

She shook her head. “I feel fine, James. Really. All better.”

“All right, then. Finish your water and hit the bathroom to take care of any pressing business.”

She tipped the bottle back to drain it. “I don’t have any pressing business.”

“Go anyway,” he said, his eyes lit with amusement. “Then meet me back here.”

She narrowed her eyes at him, suspicious, but he only smiled. “You’re just trying to make me nervous,” she said as she eased off his lap.

His smile turned a little wicked at the edges. “I’m not trying to, but it’s a nice side benefit.”

“Pervert,” she accused, trying and failing to suppress the nerves that were beginning to do their jittery dance in her belly.

“Go,” he repeated, and gave her butt a smack to enforce the order.

“I’m going, I’m going,” she muttered, and hurried over to the powder room tucked under the stairs. Taking care of business didn’t take long, and though she was tempted to linger in the bathroom so he’d have to fetch her, she didn’t think it would start their day off on the right note. Whatever he’d planned, he’d clearly gone to a great deal of trouble to set it up, and she didn’t want to ruin it.

She drew a deep breath, reminded herself that her husband loved her, would never hurt her, and that her safeword always worked, then stepped out of the bathroom.

“All right, Mister Sneaky Dom,” she began as she turned the corner, then stopped short when she saw the items laid out on the pool table. She stared at them, her heart thundering in her ears, before shifting her gaze to him. “You’re kidding.”
