“Anything to add to their reveal just now?” Elizabeth asked as the group of women turned towards them. “Like when, what, or why the secrecy all summer?”

“The only thing I will say is that Dani wanted to keep things very quiet, especially after what happened last time. None of us were about to put it out there and cause her any more pain.”

“But didn’t she say they weren’t planning on trying for now at the anniversary party?” Doreen questioned.

“Talking about Dani, Tyler?” Angela inquired sliding over to them. “Didn’t you learn your lesson last time?”

“I haven’t said anything Angela. I’m not about to be kicked out the door again.”

“Come on, can’t you give your friends and business associates a bit more detail than that?” Doreen asked.

“If Dani and Luke want everyone to know they’ll tell you,” Angela replied.

“We’ll tell you what?” Dani inquired surprising the group as she and Luke returned from the dance floor.

“The when, what, and how’s of your very sneaky little announcement just now,” Doreen said. “After everything I’ve shared, you couldn’t let me in on this?”

“If this bump hadn’t decided to become quite evident, we wouldn’t have told anyone still,” Dani admitted. “I don’t want more people following me but that’s life I suppose.”

“Your life perhaps,” Elizabeth stated acknowledging the fact that the rest of them had it much easier. “Congratulations, when’s the big day anticipated?”

“Mid-January, I’m just shy of six months.”

“Oh my, well that’s certainly not what I was expecting,” Doreen admitted smiling. “I figured you were only about four at the most considering how tiny you normally are.”

“Thank you I think,” Dani laughed.

“Anything else for the gossips to learn?” Elizabeth asked as the men congratulated Luke.

“Nope, we’re keeping everything else to ourselves.”

“But what about a baby shower?” Doreen questioned. “How are we supposed to buy gifts if we don’t know the gender?”

“Honestly, we don’t need any presents,” Dani said shooting a glance towards Angela. “Between Auntie Angela and Grandma Joan there won’t be a single thing left to purchase ourselves.”

“We’re asking for donations to be made to a selection of charities Dani choses,” Luke added as his hand rested along the curve of her stomach.

“Alright, but seriously, at the party you two indicated that you weren’t thinking of having kids still,” Doreen said glancing between them. “So, what changed, because you both look over the moon about it.”

“We weren’t trying but our little spur of the moment trip out of town sort of decided for us,” Dani told her.

“Okay,” Doreen stated. “Would this have been the trip that delayed you from buying out Larry for nearly three extra weeks?” she added to Luke.

“It would be. Dani stopped in at the office and as we left, I asked her where she wanted to go.”

“I told him the beach house because I wanted to enjoy the sun away from the craziness of the month before and we went straight from the office to the hanger.”

“Leaving everything at home including any thought of precautions and our weekend getaway quickly turned into a wonderful second honeymoon,” Luke said dropping a kiss on her lips.

“Wait, you’re saying you two just got in the car and left? No suitcase or toiletries, including your pill?” Elizabeth asked. “I’m religious about mine.”

“I usually am but as Luke said all thoughts flew away and we were simply enjoying the peace and quiet. It was the perfect trip. Then we get home, and everyone stopped in.”

“Anyone who saw those two that night would know exactly how much they’d enjoyed their trip,” Tyler tacked on with a grin.

“Tyler,” Luke warned.

“When did you find out?” Doreen inquired trying to smooth over the tension.
