Reed let that slip at family dinner last year, and after that night when Graham stumbled into Reed’s house, I’ve never looked at him the same.

Like, don’t get me wrong, I’m all about having fun and hooking up. Serious relationships are not and never will be my thing. I like the freedom, but I don’t treat anyone as if they’re disposable because that’s not who I am, and I definitely would never shit-talk someone in their brother’s kitchen, knowing they were in the other room.

“Anyway, athletes just are not my thing. I’m casually dating, not tying myself down to anyone or anything and enjoying being the ‘cool aunt.’ I’m perfectly fine being the single girl.”

Lea and Ana nod in agreement.

Why waste my youthful years? No thanks.

“Okay girls, as fun as that was, I’m starving, and I need tacos. Let’s go.” I grin, unfolding my crossed legs from the couch and skipping toward the kitchen. I set the scorecard on the counter by the pantry and get to work, making us my mama’s famous street tacos.

By the time we’ve finished our tacos, the bottles of Dom are gone, and it’s well after three a.m. We’ve laughed until our stomachs hurt so to end the night, we settle on the couch and put on reruns of One Tree Hill.

I make a mental note to clean everything up in the morning since my eyes are heavy, and my limbs are loose from the champagne. Reed has the comfiest couch in the world, which means I drift off ten minutes into the episode.

The last thing I think about before sleep takes me is Graham Adams and I hate that he’s even on my mind at all.
