“What are you going to do with me?” I ask. “Keep me here like a pet?”

Archer shrugs. “We’re still figuring that out,” he admits. I’m surprised he revealed that at all. He seems like the kind of guy who really likes plans.

“Maybe we’ll turn you in for that nice reward,” Booker remarks, but his voice lacks the aggression Grumpy Pants has. It’s only a comment, not a concrete plan of action.

It’s my turn to shrug my shoulders. “I can pay you more than that. Name your price.”

Four sets of shoulders tense. They all heard how much I’m worth and know I can pay more than what Chaz is offering. I’d have to make some calls, and I’d do everything in my power to screw them over, but they don’t necessarily know that.

When Archer raises his brow though, I think he might know exactly what I’m thinking. “You know too much,” he replies.

“If you return me safely, I won’t tell a soul,” I promise, but it’s a lie.

He’s quiet for a moment as he studies me, and whatever he finds in my face has him relaxing. “Nice try,” he murmurs.

My mind shifts to take in every possible exit, my eyes finding the black car sitting in front of the house and latching onto it. If I can find the keys, I can get out and drive away, leaving them all here. Getting there will be the problem, not to mention figuring out where the keys are. There are four men here, and one of them has to have the keys in their pocket. It wouldn’t be such a bad thing to seduce one of them. All four of the men are attractive, achingly so. Seduction isn’t my strong suit, but desperate times and all that. My eyes flick to Eric. Clearly, he’d be completely game for a seduction.

“The entirety of London is looking for me,” I point out, hoping it’ll make them wise up and accept whatever money they’d like, but I know they think I’ll run to the police the first chance I get. They are probably right. Still, I hoped it would be easy.

“Good thing we’re not in London,” Grumpy Pants rumbles before turning to walk away, obviously dismissing me.

“Don’t worry, sweet cheeks,” Eric says, pulling me closer. “I’ll keep you company while we wait for our fearsome leader to come up with a plan.”

Latching onto the offer and switching my tactics, I cuddle into him, tucking my legs up beneath me. “I appreciate your warmth,” I murmur, gently curling my hand against the hard muscle beneath his shirt.

Eric wiggles his eyebrows. “I’ve got plenty of warmth to spare.”

Yes, this one will be the easiest of the four for sure.
