She sits there for a moment, her face blank, and then slowly, her lips curl back over her teeth like the wolf she is. “Chaz fucking Dandridge not only cheated on me and targeted me for my money, but he organised a robbery that turned into a kidnapping, and thenrefused to fucking help me?”

Pure, feral, untamed woman. If I hadn’t been in love with her before this moment, that look on her face would have done it. This is a woman who will shove a knife into Chaz’s rib cage without a second thought. This is a woman who knows who she is and will do whatever is necessary to find her revenge.

She won’t be doing it alone. I’ll make sure of it.

Her eyes narrow on Archer. “You allowed me to call him and ask for help?”

“I didn’t allow anything—”

“You should have told me,” she spits out, standing up, and just as quickly as it appeared, all that anger disappears, and she sits back down primly in her seat. “Never mind. What’s done is done, right?” She takes another sip of her beer, and we all stare at her in surprise.

“Uh,” Eric says, glancing between her and the rest of us. “Genevieve?”

“It brought me here,” she says. “It gave me a family. Despite everything that happened, I’ve still gained.” Her eyes flick to me. “And for that, I’m not angry. We weren’t a family yet, though I would have gone a lot easier on you lot had you told me what a piece of shit my ex-fiancé was.”

Archer studies her. “So you know what we have to do then.”

She nods, and excitement roars in my veins. The grin that splits her lips makes me want to throw her over my shoulder and rush upstairs with her.

I’ll earn her forgiveness with my head between her thighs and her screams in my ears.

“I’m going back,” she announces, toasting us with her beer. “It’s time to pay a little visit to my dear old ex-fiancé.”

Fuck, if that isn’t the sexiest thing I’ve ever heard.
